“Breakfasts kept us going all day!”

The Glass House B&B

The breakfasts were great, and we were given a doggy bag of muffins, croisants etc. left over which kept us going all day, so saving having to find somewhere to eat at lunch time. The house was unusual, and our bedroom (Garden Room) had a very cramped bathroom. The only window we could open was behind the bedhead, which meant we either slept in a draught, or woke up with a headache because we kept the window closed. It was possible to brew up tea or coffee in the bedroom - but this was in a cupboard, intended for clothes, which also had the downpipe from a toilet upstairs going through it. However, the bed was comfortable. The situation was within easy walking distance of restaurants for eating out.

I picked the glass house after reading all the reviews and stayed in the loft room with my husband and 18mth son.
Pros - clean, spacious, jacuzi bath, lovely hosts, brilliant breakfast and as previously stated you get a doggy bag to take left over muffins which kept us going all day! Also very central to Jasper although Jasper is small so most accomodation is probably central.
Cons - We only had a few cons which were mainly because we didn't know about them before going (even though I spoke to owner to book and said I was bringing small child). The loft room which is the largest and on the whole fantastic is basically a mezzanine to the main sitting room. It is reached by a flight of about 12 stairs and is open plan. There is no door on the room and the walls around the mezzinine were hip hight with planters on top. This provide us with 2 problems. Firstly we had to place our travel cot across the top of the stairs during the day to act as a stair gate, secondly you were aware of the lack of privacy. The privacy did not bother my husband or myself however some people may find it slightly inhibiting not to have a bedroom door. We were also very aware of any noise we made, luckily the other guests were also quiet as if they had wanted to sit in the lounge late at night we would have been very aware of any noise / conversation. Another thing which would bother some people is that as the name may suggest there are alot of windows in the B&B and there are very few coverings on them so the loft room is very bright as soon as the sun is up ( i realize some people would like this)

We stayed at the Glass House for two nights in May, following our train journey across Canada from Toronto. It was a perfect choice for this part of our tour. Our loft suite was very comfortable with everthing we could have wished for, and the breakfasts fantastic! On our first morning we were puzzled by the presence of a brown paper bag on the beautifully set table. How delighted we were, at the end of a delicious meal, to be invited to take with us all the remaining homemade muffins we had not eaten! Just perfect to enjoy on our mountain walk!
The Glass House is a beautiful , peaceful home where our hosts Toby and Jim made us feel so welcome. We would love to return - for longer next time!

Everything was great: the location, the breakfast, the room. They even picked us up at the train station! I would recommend this B&B for everyone looking for a pleasant stay in Jasper and I am grateful for the excellent stay I had there.

“Great Stay, Great Breaksfast!”

The Glass House B&B

We stayed for 1 night at the Glass House in Jasper in September.

We managed to book the loft at short notice after our accommodation at another B&B fell through at the last minute. After staying at the Glass House we can now say that we are glad that this earlier accomodation fell through as the Glass House was very welcoming.

The loft was clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. We had everything we needed (clean towels, soaps etc) plus extras like a spa bath and lounge area. The bed was also extremely comfortable.

While the loft was fantastic the highlight of this B&B is the breakfast and the hospitality. Tobie (the owner) made us a delicious breakfast of fruit salad, muffins, yoghurt, homemade breads, juice and coffee. Tobie also prepared a 'doggy bag' for us to take with us all the food that we couldn't eat - which was much appreciated as we were driving on to Edmonton that day.

The Glass House was one of the most memorable stays in our 3 week trip of Canada and we would definitely stay there if ever in Jasper again.
