After staying at many motels during our trip through the Rockies, staying at small cabins like these have their advantages. Instead of the family all in one room in most motels, at the cabins we could have separate bedrooms and a living room folding out couch. The couch was challenging to open up, and it would be great if staff would find out ahead of time if people need it and open it out for them. We did find the double beds ok but not the most comfortable. There is no climate control other than one portable fan and screened windows (although there were some holes in one screen). Having a full kitchen is great as a break from eating out all the time. No dining table, just ledge with chairs. Many people ate at the picnic tables or chairs outside but it could get buggy. Our cabin had no drawers so we kept our things in our suitcases on the floor. Lodge is at edge of town so walking distance to grocery, liquor store, restaurants although long walk if carrying anything. Driving and parking in Jasper not as bad as Banff. These are not wilderness cabins so open windows will pick up noise. Laundromat in separate building was great, and front desk sells laundry soap. Staff were friendly. We had wireless internet from our cabin but the quality was frustratingly poor most of the time, kept cutting off, very slow. Facilities were very clean and visually attractive. Breakfast at the registration building was good, but not free. Meals also available right next door at Best Western.
