I highly reccomend the Overlander. We have stayed there twice and have nothing but good things to say.

The staff is super helpful, the food is delicious and it is close to great mountain activities.

If you're looking for good food, good wine and a place to relax and spend quality time with your partner or family then this is the place.

What a gem of a hotel!! My husband and I stayed at the Overlander for two nights at the end of August. We were with another couple and we all felt the Overlander exceeded our expectations. We had rooms in the lodge with mountain views. The rooms were clean and wonderfully furnished and the beds were very comfortable. The sitting area in the lobby is extremely inviting with plenty of comfortable chairs and couches and a roaring fire in the evening. One night we ate at the restaurant in the hotel and enjoyed the amazing view, the great food and wine and the friendly service. In fact, everyone at the Overlander was extremely friendly and helpful. It's located a short drive outside of Jasper and, like others have said, it never failed that we would see wildlife while making the drive to and from Jasper. One morning after a delightful buffet breakfast, we took a short hike through the hillside surrounding the Overlander. The staff will help with hiking suggestions. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the Jasper area.

Friendly staff, easy check in.
Cabin clean and comfortable - attached to others (four rooms in each building).
A very long drive to anywhere else so you really need to eat on premises.
Dinner was very good but a little pricey. Breakfast is included and excellent.

As all the reviewers have said- it is an absolutely beautiful place, the rooms are calean and nicely furnished- hte dining room is outstanding for both the view and the food- the staff were wonderful. My only complaint was the noise from the highway- trucks roaring by that you could hear from our rooms in the fourplex cabins until midnight.

Stayed here in mid July for 4 oh too short days. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary so we went for the Mountain View room. What a wonderful view. Looking west towards Jasper the light was constantly changing and the mountains seemed to live with the changes. One of the nicest rooms we’ve ever stayed in, and the people couldn’t have been warmer or more friendly. The 35 minute ride into Jasper was one of the favorite parts of the trip; we never failed to see wildlife or incredible scenery – see pics.
Every morning the dining room staff greeted us with both a great breakfast, but lots of ideas about what we wanted to do that day. From the reservations online which required a couple of changes on my part, right through to checkout we were thrilled with every aspect.
The food in the dining room, while pricy, was worth the splurge for a big event. The soups were outstanding, and don’t miss the scallops! Will return!!

If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing place with an incredible view and excellent service this is the place! The rooms are well decorated with balconey. There is no TV or phone in the room which is one of the reasons we had such a relaxing time. Although the lodge was built in the 60's the food, wine list and service are definetely 2010 standards. After a friendly quick registration ,we entered our room to find relaxing music playing on the CD, the ceiling fan on and a wonderful California red uncorked with two wine glasses. We were going to head to the hotsprings but were so relaxed by our surroundings that we decided to sit on the balcony, sip our wine and gaze at the spectacular mountain view.
Dinner was booked for 8pm. The staff were very attentive and genuinely enjoyed their jobs. Dinner was superb ! We had dinner the night before at La Ronde in Edmonton and this was actually more delicious. The wine list is enormous and is world class. My husband had Bison steak ( for the first time ) and loved it. I had rack of lamb ( my favorite ) and it was "melt in your mouth" delicious. The Ceasar salad was crisp and fresh with a new twist of Balsamic reduction - very good.
Following a 2 hour dinner we wakled about the grounds. This lodg e really is tucked away in the mountains with nothing else to distract you. It is simple rustic elegance.
I would recommend this to friends who are looking for a quiet, old fashioned relaxing stay with excellent food and wine.
