“a fine example of traditional canadian german vietnamese cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

rolled through town on business, Tom's recommended by a calgarian colleague.
Terrific lunch. my partners were delighted with their home-made burgers, and I could not resist
the traditional german wurst, kartofel salad, kraut lunch dish.
What the heck is a vietnamese cook going to do with that?
Answer: Do it right, is what they are going to do.

super friendly. local draft beer. cheap chic vibe. good lunch good prices. home made ketchup, believe it or not. what's not to like?

“Don't be scared...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

...of the worn exterior, tiny entrance or grubby-looking interior. The food's amazing and the service is welcoming, friendly and efficient. Did I say, the food's amazing? Perhaps that's the chicken reuben... maybe it's the schnitzel (with its frightening cover of gravy, onions and mushrooms - D___! It's good!).

“Not the Tasty Tom's of yore”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

Tasty Tom's used to be a must visit place back in the day for German style cuisine. That day, sadly, has gone by. New management in place with over salted food, kids menu pizza from a freezer box, soggy fish and chips and a general lack of imagination. Used to be good solid downhome food with the original owners, now this place is a waste of calories. Don't be fooled by the name.

“Excellent service, excellent meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

Took a chance and was very impressed, our waitress Kirby was excellent. She was attentive and made us smile. The lunch burger was the best, home made fries and homemade ketchup sealed the deal. We will be back soon. Prices were very reasonable.

“World's best ketchup”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Yup. Ketchup. They make it themselves and it is soooo good! I love this place for brunch on Sundays. It's the breakfast menu I like the best. The burgers and such are good but their breakfast is stellar. Their potatoes are especially tasty. Their omelets are filling with an unusual selection of ingredients alongside the faithful standbys. It's a good spot to people watch and they are quick with coffee refills. Nobody I've ever taken there was disappointed.
