I visited this venue this evening, due to the fact that it had the shortest wait time available for dining in Edmonton this evening 12/30/12 and both our guests from Thailand and South Africa felt for Alberta beef. Wait time confirmed over the phone15-20 mins when we called in advance and made he booking telephonically. We where seated 45mins after we arrived. Decided to pass time at the bar, NO bartender. When we where finally seated, the waitress took the order and we were served the appetizers 20 mins later, at least 3 out of 6 of us.....finally we got served the balance of the appetizers with the main course..full rack of ribs with half to follow, medium fillet steak....ordered well done, medium rare ....ordered medium. We were then told "Sorry guys we are out of our signature " Blooming Onion".... I complained to the manager "Greg", which I called for and never saw on the floor until requested, saying that we last visited the place about 2 months ago and it had rapidly deteriorated, his reply, "not aware that the service levels had dropped" ....long story short the "part owner" Jerold Bedford... weighed in after being summonsed saying exactly this "...we are not understaffed, you should be glad I'm attending to your complains, were as I could have been off shift, at home in bed...rather than attending to this complaint, whats the problem?".......no respect for guests that were present at our and other tables. the worst place to dine, so much for before and after service....gives Edmonton dining a bad taste!! Pathetic that franchisees are still allowed to cater, knowingly damaging The Brand in this competitive age. The worst place to dine or enjoy a meal in Canada!!!! Outback is in front in a backward way!!
