When I first dined here in the 1970s, the 'Old' Spaghetti Factory was really quite 'new!' There were fun, old-fashioned-looking b&w photos on the walls of 'the spaghetti harvest,' with strands of spaghetti hanging from tree limbs like tinsel, and silent-era movies providing entertainment for hungry diners awaiting their meals. Over the years the O.S.F. has marked the milestones of my life with memories of date night meals with my first and second husbands, with each of my four babies in turn, too young to eat, but occupying a car seat on a chair, and family birthday celebrations too numerous to mention. I ALWAYS order the potpourri, with thick, creamy clam sauce, robust meat sauce, and whole mushroom tomato sauce, as those three are my favourites. I have ALWAYS enjoyed the house dressing and the hot sourdough bread with garlic butter. I don't know anyone who likes spumoni ice cream! Whichever city I visit, I can depend on the familiar flavours of the homestyle comfort foods offered at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Trendy restaurants come and go, but the Old Spaghetti Factory is a Canadian Institution!
