“best Korean food in Edmonton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Went to BulGoGi recently and have been going there for about 30 years now. Food has not changed in all those years! It is fantastic tasting and of excellent quality. The restaurant looks pretty much the same (kind of rustic/old), prices are up somewhat, but the food is the best.

“Consistently excellent food amidst familiar old decor; friendly family business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

This place hasn't changed it's interior for ages, but there is a comfort in it's dated familiarity.
You come here for the food, which is always consistently excellent; not the decor.
A small bowl of kimchee and bean sprout salad is always brought to your table to start you off while you wait for your order. The Goon-dak (Marinated barbecued chicken breast), O-jing-uh-bok-kum (Stir fried squid with beef and vegetables- hot and spicy), and bul-go-gi are recommended. A pot of steamed white rice is brought with your entrees that you may scoop out as you wish.
Prices fair, service always friendly and good - but they are busy!
Located on a 'fork in the road' -it can be easy to miss at first.

“Love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

I have been eating here since the late 70 's back then it was considered exotic and good. With the growth of the resturant industury it's no longer exotic but still great. I have no idea of ownership frommthe look of the building it is proball owner occupied and the second generation is running it.

They do a great job keeping up standards.

“A family favourite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

And by the crowds - a lot of other families too!! I have been going here since 1982 and have never been disappointed. I have been told it is some what westernized version of Korean food but I don't care - good food - healthy choice - excellent service keep me and my family regulars over the past 30 years. All the classic Korean dishes available, reasonably priced and incredibly tasty! Don't expect much in decor or fancy - just solid service and good food.

“Old Standard”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

I have frequented the Bul Go Gi House since going to Unversity in the 1970's. The consistant element of the restaurant is the food. It has been excellent for 40 years. The interior has changed several times, it has never been fancy but alway clean and tidy. The staff is polite and the service is efficient. The owners are always happy and greet you at the cash register as if you are a long time friend.

Eat there if you can.
