“Good for experience but I won't be back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

This was one of those places that we had to try as we had heard such great things about it. While the variety of foods was intriguing, we were not prepared for our steak and duck to be served blue rare. Staff were excellent!!!

“Exceeded Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Knowing how hard it is to get a table, we arrived early and were able to secure a table in this small restaurant on a Wednesday night (still incredibly busy!) We had an out of town business associate with us so we hoped to impress.

Well this restaurant did! Every dish was fantastic. Our guest rated the Panzanella Salad the BEST salad he had ever eaten. We also had the Miso Braised Pork Belly (very rich), theLamb Kofta and Duck Confit. All delicious. The waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. His wine recommendation was perfect (a Spanish red).

Only real complaint was the music - far too loud and rock and roll for a restaurant. Could they play it loud in the bar and soften it upstairs. We could barely hear each other talk!

This is not a cheap restaurant but the three of us were very satisfied with five dishes and a bottle of wine. I was disappointment with one dish - the brussel sprouts - tasty but overpriced.

“If You Are Hungry Don't Go Here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

Had the apple bacon poutine, it tasted very good but the portion size was super small. So if you are hungry don't go here but if you want a tasty snack it is awesome although a little expensive for what you get.

“Amazing! So good we wished we lived in Edmonton!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

We decided to check out Three Boars while we were in Edmonton over Easter and were only sorry we couldn't go back again and again.
We rang to make a reservation and were told that they were fully booked but a part of the restaurant was kept for walk-ins and to come on down and try our luck. The place itself if not overly large the dining room upstairs and a cool funky bar downstairs, in front of the kitchen. We managed to snap up two seats at the bar ordered some awesome local beer and enjoyed the cool atmosphere. The place was busy and there were people waiting so my tip would be if you don't have a reservation get there early to grab a spot at the bar.
The food was devine. This is a share plate place, designed to share each dish with someone, but are of a good size to have alone. We had one of the best poutine's I have ever had, so fresh and with slices of apple it was different and light. The food is not your standard North American fare, so if you are expecting burgers and fries this isn't your place. It is so much better. Different flavours and inspirations, we devoured every plate. We were hungry so we had 5 dishes between the 2 of us, but could have been easily satisfied with 4 on a non-hungry day. It is not expensive we spent $90 total for the both of us, including beer and a tip. Have been to places that charge far more and not delivered half as good as this.
The staff were nice and welcoming but the real winner here is the food. We are only sorry we don't live closer so this could be our local. Definitely give this place a try if you are into good food. We will be back when in town next.

“Edmonton's Best New Restaurant is the Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Following a cover story on Edmonton's Style Magazine (AVENUE) where Three Boars was named Best New Restaurant, my daughter and I eagerly sampled their current menu on Easter Sunday. It was a culinary delight! I wish I can describe in detail the dishes - we ordered a total of 6 small plates - not including dessert (which was the best in recent memory). Each and everyone of those dishes were amazing and loved and savoured each bite. We cleaned out our plates which is unusual - and went home wanting for more...The overall dining experience was exceptional! Kudos to the team and more power to this unique dining experience. This restaurant deserve the Best New Restaurant title and hope it will continue to be in the annual Best List in Edmonton.
