“Tasteful but not Exciting.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

Worth seeing but not exactly world class exhibitions - in fact the top floor displays were rather odd and unusual to say the least - not something I would go out of my way to see.

“Europe in Alberta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013 via mobile

A beautiful building and space. Exquisite exhibition. Great deli sandwiches and good coffee. What more can anybody desire on a very cold winters afternoon on the Prairie?
The Chagall exhibition is a must-experience for young and old. What a way to "see" another one of the classical fables. A joy.

“Innovative, exciting and thought provoking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

Visited the Art Gallery of Alberta on a Wednesday evening, where they have late opening and a free cocktail as part of the admission price - nice. Not the normal amount on display as they were preparing for a new exhibition in December, but the price was reduced accordingly, so no complaints there. The Marc Chagall Daphnis and Chloe lithograph exhibition on at the moment is worth the price of admission alone, and the other exhibits are excellent.

We experienced an installation on the top floor where you enter an imaginary world, called The Intellection of Lady Spider House, and among other things, crawl through a fireplace to hidden spaces. Crawling is optional by the way, you can take another entrance if crawling isn't your thing. Art galleries in Canada are never dull, and this one is no exception! Worth a trek through the snow to get there.

“Excellent experience!”

There was a guide everywhere and I could see a lot of beautiful art work... Most of them very old stuff... It was amazing, I really liked! If you are in Edmonton travelling, you have to go!

“ND Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Incredible building. Perfect day, clear and cold with sun coming through the angled windows in the heart of the city. A great place to hang out and take in the exhibits. Really enjoyed the small exhibit on the Far North Weather Station - would be interesting to see similar displays expanded. It is such a big part of our Northern psyche. The watercolour exhibit was fascinating. The Chagall was a bit lost on me, but did enjoy the historical aspect.
Also, great connections to shopping and dining all under cover.
Used Groupon, great value.
