went to the pool and food area at the square. Kids had fun although the water is so cold. Best on a hot day, lots of shade

“Under the Pyramid”

Under the large pyramid is a large open space that the City uses for all kinds of events (farmers market, city police graduation photos, singing christmas tree)

“Water area and festival square are amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

Every city needs attractions like this one has just outside City Hall. The water feature is amazing - to see so many people enjoying the water on a hot hot day was awesome. Lots of seating for parents, and best of all, it is free!! Then we saw the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival in the festival square -again, free! Obvioiusly if you eat or choose to spend money on face painting etc it costs, but otherwise, it was a full day of entertainment for all of us, even our 4 and 11 yr olds. Great festival, great facility, and I understand that many events take place here so definitely worth going to to cool down and maybe make a day of it - the Art Gallery of Alberta is right there too, though we ran out of time and did not visit.

Nothing to do here but stare at a fountain. Edmotnon downtown is so boring.
