“Sizable for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

The room we stayed in, two beds, had a lot of unexpected space.. also a hide-a-bed couch and a matching chair that was a nice surprise. The beds are very small.
The breakfast is average, but in a very small space in the lobby. The table and chairs in the rooms are good to bring your breakfast too.
There is no pool. This hotel would be good for a one night cheaper stay for families, but I would not stay longer. There is nothing really in walkable distance to do.. McDonald's and subway are very close. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel is decent but very bad service.
Lots of channels on the tv.
Watch out for the dresser drawers, they don't stay closed and you may shin hack yourself!
Bathrooms are big, shower has barely any pressure so plan to be in there longer than usual to rinse your hair.
The price is very good for the size of the rooms. they need a pool and a good restaurant near by and it would be great.
15-20 minutes from the west Edmonton mall.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a stovetop & sink, in addition to the microwave & small fridge that was advertised. A kitchenette with two teenagers is a must! The room had sooooo much space! I would go back again!

I visited Argyll Plaza for just one night. I was provided an early check in and the lady at the reception was very friendly.
The room was clean but quite average. If you are expecting a fancy hotel with nice room service, this is definitely not the place. But if you are in Edmonton fora couple of nights, its a good enough place to stay. Be aware though that the location is not very impressive and the breakfast is just name sake.

We come to Edmonton to play at the waterpark at the mall, we have been here previously with the kids and grand children and had across the hall rooms (no adjoining rooms). We got upgraded to room 224 which had a king bed and flat screen TV. The room is clean and adequate for us and it seemed to be renovated since our last visit. A small breakfast is provided in the lobby, and it's attached to Rosie's Restaurant which serves full breakfast if desired. There is a liquor store around the corner of the hotel and a convenience store in the hotel lobby. We find this hotel provides great value as we use SUTP coupon for West Edmonton Mall venues, it costs $124 for the room and 2 tickets to either the Waterpark or Galaxyland. Without the mall tickets a SUTP coupon is available for $69.99 per night.
We had dinner at Rosie's and once again most excellent as expected, separate review. We have been coming here for year's and will continue to be patrons.

My husband and I had a two night stay at the Argylle Plaza. We felt the location was central which was correct. At check inn I requested extra coffee to be sent to the room I was told at the front desk that there was enough coffee in the room, I did without my evening coffee to save it for the morning. The cleaning carts are abandoned in the hallways, we had no control over the thermostat in our room, and only once were we treated like a guest. Upon checkout a staff christmas party was in progress in the main lobby, very unprofessional. If you are looking to be treated as a hotel guest look somewhere else.

We stayed at the Argyll Plaza for one night, November 28th, when we came to Edmonton for the Paul McCartney concert. The price of I believe, $99 for a room was brought down even more when we used our SUTP coupon to $69.99 and that included a light breakfast the next morning. The hotel was fairly close to Rexall Centre which was another bonus, we didn't have to pay to park our car at the hotel plus we received complementary Sun newspapers both days so we had even more memories of Paul who was on the front page! We got to Edmonton early, before check-in time but one of our rooms was ready so we left our luggage in that room, went and had a great late lunch/early dinner at the adjoining restaurant and by that time the other room was ready, all before 3:00! The front desk girl, Becky was very friendly as were the housekeeping staff we saw in the hallway and the front desk guy when we came back from the fantastic concert! We would certainly stay here again, especially with the coupon!

Room Tip: We asked for a non-smoking room and I double-checked on that and they came through for us - thank yo...

We needed a place to stay before moving into our new home, and decided on the Argyl Plaza Hotel. The price was right and the staff were very friendly. We slept well in the clean room. Book online as the price is less than just checking in.
