“A lot of build up without much substance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

Went to Vivo with another couple for the first time and was interested in trying their "family style" menu. I am a vegetarian which proved no problem to accommodate. The restaurant had a nice vibe with an open kitchen - which got a bit smoky at times. The waiters were very professional and did a great job profiling the freshness of each ingredient enticing us to try a good variety of the menu. Each course, however, was just ok. Disappointing for sure and expensive.

“Don't understand its popularity.”

Good food but too rich. Don't like the family-style menu. Can't eat there as a couple. Snotty service.

“amazing!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

This place is great!! Family style eating, so its large portions to share. Great ceaser salad to start, followed by fettuccini alfredo (to die for!!), we had the bone in pork chop to share for our main and ended with the fresh baked cookies for dessert. They were awesome. They have an unreal wine selection. Something for every budget. We shared a great bottle of Shiraz, recommended by our server. $65.00. good bottle. ended our meal with a couple of Ports. In all, a great 3 hour meal/date. Its my new faqvorite restaurant in edmonton. Highly recommended!!!

“So So”

Normal Italian food and good Italian beer, expensive, service was normal, it's good to try it one time, it is necessary to pay 5% of you price food as service fee also they have a good pasta (my wife said because I'm not pasta fan ;)

“Vivo - nice but overpriced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

We decided to try out this restaurant last night. The atmosphere is very contempory but noisy. Our waiter was excellent, explained everything well.
Had the Caesar salad....the best ever.
Then tried the fettuccine and gnocchi ....also very good. We then had the land, sea and air....which was steak, chicken and a small piece of fish. The steak was cold and for $130 this plate was way overpriced for 4 people.
Will go back again but not for awhile
