We visited with the kids for the first time tonight, using up our SUTP coupons to visit new-to-us places. We arrived a half hour before close, but were seated with a smile by a server with excellent menu knowledge and the ability to make intelligent recommendations. The food came quickly, and the server was attentive, even asking this frazzled mom if it would help to bring the kids meals first (it did!). She also showed up with crayons and a colouring sheet without being asked. Very family friendly!
The food was a bit expensive for the amount of protein that we recieved, but we also have to consider that the food was very high quality - homemade (delicious) corn tortillas, freshly made guacamole and pico de gallo, and the steak in the tacos was super tender and well seasoned. I do not love cilantro, but it was used well - just enough for flavour, not overpowering at all. Hubby especially appreciated the Mexican (corn-syrup free) bottle of Pepsi - it definitely added to the authenticity of the restaraunt. Loved the mariachi music too!
$13.99 for 3 tacos with guac, pico, sour cream, a huge portion of spanish rice & a nice side of refried beans. $17.99 for 3 enchiladas, which also came with a huge portion of spanish rice & a nice side of refried beans. A complimentary basket of homemade torilla chips and salsa while we waited was a wonderful touch too.
Our only suggestion would be the addition of a kids menu, but our two kiddos split a regular entree and were quite satisfied. It was nice to hear that chicken fingers and fries, which are not on the menu, are available upon request. Not something we'd opt for, but a good go-to for many friends' families.
