Booked here despite some of the less than positive reviews cuz it was close to where I needed to be. Upon arrival after midnight, the front desk clerk was pretty indifferent about everything. Claimed that it was hotel policy that everyone staying in the rooms had to show ID which they in turn took photocopies of. Never heard of such a policy at any hotel before. Maybe cuz we were in a seemingly bad neighborhood (evidenced by the security guard that was hanging out in the lobby) the guy probably thought we looked like criminals. The rooms were surprisingly clean and the rest of the stay was fine. At checkout, the manager explained that they photocopy IDs in case of any incident so they can have evidence of who was there. He then said "you guys don't look like criminals" and gave us the photocopies of all our IDs. Weird!

It was a disaster from my arrival. They said they didnt have a room,in spite of a confirmed PAID reservation.
The desk clerk then berated Hotwire and me.But she eventually did find a room;and then attempted to charge my credit card again
The hotel was noisy, parties, drunks, and fights in the hotel.
They are very pet unfriendly. The food was terrible..I could go on but to say it was one of the worst hotels Ive ever stayed in would be an understatement.
When I complained they acted like it was all hotwires fault somehow.
If you like stress on a trip, this is the place.

A mixed feeling about this accommodation - the price is right, the neighbourhood is not the best (Beverly). The continental breakfast is okay - a substitution for the hot breakfast is better. The afternoon and weekend staff are great - the day staff is a bit snooty (I do not know why considering the location) and I found on the day of checkout the desk was calling my room half-an-hour before checkout time - ostensibly as a courtesy but seemingly to harass!

Room Tip: It is a long walk up stairs and down the hall if you get a high-number room - ask for something clos...

The stay was great, I came in for work, I work construction and was on a site near by. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were very clean! Great sleep on the bed!

My stay at the Travelodge East, Edmonton was "okay". The hotel was clean and reasonably priced .. stayed more than three nights and got an exceptional rate. I was able to get a discount on the daily pet charge, too. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and really took to my dog, Teddy.
The only thing I noticed is that when checking out, you would think the front desk staff would ask you if your stay was all right, or would take the time to thank you for your business. They did neither. They were just too busy talking between themselves. Left feeling a little "flat" after a seven day stay!
So what you may ask? The conduct of the staff at the front desk of a hotel is the most crucial. After this, I may think twice about staying there again because my patronage really didn't seem to matter.
