“good value, great place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

We have stayed here three times already - it's much preferable to hotels. It's clean, quiet.
The down side would be its older versions of TVs and the beds are ordinary but OK.
The breakfast is superior however.

This is an older apartment building built originally in 1912 and converted to a B&B in the late 90's. It sits on a busy corner just west of downtown Edmonton but is solid enough that any traffic noise is minimal. It is located in the "Gallery District" of Edmonton with a number of art galleries within a short stroll(just a couple of blocks in any direction).

It is what I imagine, having never visited Britain, an older British B&B would be like. It's not glitzy or flashy but offers solid comfort to guests. Ours was a large open room with full amenities. Bed at one end and a sitting area at the other. A centrally placed TV swiveled to serve both ends of the room. Comfortable and spacious bathroom fully met our needs. Window air conditioners but the Alberta climate seldom calls for A/C. A coffee maker and tea kettle with all you need to make either beverage is complimentary in the room.

Breakfasts are provided from a bistro type restaurant on the main floor of the building in exchange for a ticket given to guests each day. Incidentally the breakfast tickets are accompanied by a complimentary chocolate from the chocolate shop also on street level. A compact but very adequate menu ranging from Eggs Benedict to a bagel with cream cheese and a fresh fruit cup. Also tasty was the yoghurt and granola bowl with fresh fruit.

The only downside is the stairs. It is a three floor facility and there are no elevators. Otherwise it is a delightful spot and we will return to it on our next visit to Edmonton.

My husband and I have stayed at this inn several times while visiting our son in Alberta. I feel like I'm coming home each time we stay there.
The building is an old Art Deco- type apartment building that has been renovated and fitted as an inn. The rooms all have a nice foyer with rounded door frames (I love this type of thing, makes me feel as if I'm on an old movie set!). Nice sized bathrooms. We have stayed in several different rooms, one with a nice little kitchen with a table, fridge etc. Fabulous for a summer visit because you can eat salds and snacks in the room. And you can chill your wine!
I sat at the table and read while my husband lounged on the bed, watching TV. It's nice because you feel as if you are in separate rooms. In Dec. 2010 we had a large room with a living area, very nice for watching TV and having family in to visit.
The restaurant downstairs serves a fabulous breakfast, which is included in the price of the room.
Free newspapers available every day.
I have been to the Glenora on my own and I have felt very comfortable and safe. This is an old, comfortable building. If you enjoyed visiting your grandma's house you will like it here!

Room Tip: Look online for room descriptions, they have several types, very reasonably priced.

This hotel/b&b is wonderful. The rooms, decorated with antique furniture and pictures were great.

We stayed at the Glenora while visiting our daughter in the city. Over our four night stay everything went well. The room was clean and warm. Being on the street side of the building, we were concerned about the level of street noise. This was not a problem, except on the last night when snow removal crews were doing their job through the night.

The breakfasts included with the room are awesome

We had a late arrival and the Inn has a key box system which worked really well. The furnishings are quaint, the room was huge with an extremely comfortable bed. It was also at the rear of the Inn so nice and quiet. Breakfast was excellent, using vouchers at the Bistro connected with the Inn. It is in a good position with good shops and cafes nearby. It is also only a short walk to The Museum of Alberta which is worth a visit. There is a sitting room for guests where you can make yourself drinks etc. Very clean and comfortable and helpful staff.

This is a quaint little historic inn although you would never notice from the outside. It was clean, clean, clean. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The breakfasts at the Glenora Bistro were the last word in breakfasts! And the coffee was great, too.

Our writer's group has come to the Glenora B&B for retreat twice a year for the last 3 or so years. Every time we go we don't want to leave! The rooms are spotless, the service is lovely, and the breakfast down in the Glenora Grill is always terrific. You can't beat the value and the atmosphere is fantastic. I always rent the large apartment suite and it's just perfect for a getaway. Super location, across the street from a coffee place and an excellent restaurant.
