“Mary Poppins”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

We have not been here in a very long time, maybe it's time to change that. The plays are high quality and well performed. We enjoyed this performance of Mary Poppins.

“Improv!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

I have seen a couple Improv shows here and have really enjoyed them. There is a small concession area with munchies and drinks. Before or after the show you can walk down into the Lee Pavillion which has benches, plants, and a waterfall.

“The Heart of The City's Arts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

The Citadel Theatre is not 1 but a gaggle of theatres, from classroms to Broadway productions, films, and local drama workshops in the Maclab, Shoctor and Rice Theatres, Zeidler Hall, the Tucker Amphitheatre and the theatre school, the latter serving kids and adults. There is a lovely restaurant with surprisingly good food for its captive audience, and a coffee shop with early closing times. Not to worry, the Citadel is the very centre of the city's centre, within walking distance of the Delta, Westin, the famous Hotel MacDonald, and other mid- to -high-priced hotels, the fast LRT train, and dozens of good-to-excellent restaurants: Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Greek, vegetarian, East Indian, and Spanish. Parking is safe and warm under the theatre, nearby library, and City Hall usually the bargain spot for cars). Two huge plusses, you are a few meters from the wonders of the Winspear Auditorium for music and the gorgeous new Art Gallery of Alberta. No visit to Edmonton should miss the Citadel and the park across the street.
Caveat: the building has a diversified atrium with water-water and enough plants to make some sneeze or worse. Allergic? Enter theatres from the streets, instead. The Citadel is something any city would be proud of: It's the heart of the city's arts!
