“A relaxing way to spend an afternoon!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Very pleasant afternoon wandering about the "Fort", indulging in an ice cream cone and going for a short train ride. It always helps to have a nice, sunny day but not too hot!

I like to visit this park as they really have displays that help you think about what it was like to live in the past eras

Awesome day trip for school children. Make sure to keep an eye on everyone as the park is quite big.

“An Excellent Place for the Family to Learn about Alberta History”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Fort Edmonton attempts to portray the wide range of Alberta history starting from the earliest fur trading post to the 1940s. Original and authentically reproduced buildings staffed by costumed interpreters allow visitors to get a good sense of the provincial story. There are many opportunities for children and some unique experiences like riding on steam locomotives and 100 year old street cars. It is very family friendly but expect to spend several hours there as it is a large site with lots of walking.

“Family Destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

The City of Edmonton does a great job with Fort Edmonton Park. Lots of activities year round with staff in period costumes. The train ride is a must for kids - they love it. In the summer they have an old fashioned "Fair" with rides. My only suggestion is that the City could do a much better job ensuring all rides are opened and staffed and could probably add to the fair to really attract families in. The grounds of Fort Edmonton Park are great for walking, lots of boardwalk and little shops along the way.
