“nice room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

The rooms are very nice and spacious. The rooms are upscale and they have a wonderful staff working for them. I found the comforts of home in the room. The beds are extremley comfortable and I could like to lie in them all day. This was a very worth well place to stay. The food at the restaurant was very good and I enjoyed all of it. I would recommend any one staying in Edmonton to use the Crown Plaza.

“Great hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

The Crown offers a comfortable stay. Significant staff turnover in recent years has really impacted the feeling of family. It's good for a quick overnight trip to Edmonton. The staff are helpful and always kind. The one thing that could use an upgrade is the exercise room. The equipment is aging and it's always super hot in the room.

Room Tip: The view of the river valley is beautiful.

“Service above average”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Professionally and personally I spend 50 to 100 nights a year in hotels. Occasionally you have one of those trips or stays that just help take the dreariness out of living on the road. This week the Chateau Lacombe did that. From the concierge to the dining staff to the banquet manager, these folks went beyond for us. Our sincere thanks . Great rooms , good food, spectacular valley views, superb location

“Incredibly Customer-Focused”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

I stayed at this Hotel in September 2012 and found the staff to be absolutely wonderful. Particularly the front desk.

I had to work late on my computer and wanted to set up the internet upon my arrival.
I was having trouble connecting to the web and the front desk person and one of the maintenance staff came up to my room and stayed until we had it working. I really appreciated that they were so competent and dedicated to making this work. They could have easily said they couldn’t fix it and walk away, but they ensured my laptop was up and running, to complete my work that evening.

The next morning, I went to a convention and their wonderful staff actually placed my luggage in my vehicle (the valet service was exceptional). Once again, I was super-impressed with their dedication to making my stay as stress-free as possible. They were very polite and efficient. They also gave me the Hotel number and said to call ahead of the “convention rush” so he could have my car ready and waiting once the convention was over that day.

I mentioned this to one of my colleagues, who stayed at another hotel, and she was impressed (as she asked the same of their front desk and they refused to load her luggage in her vehicle)

I really appreciated their customer service. It was very refreshing and very much appreciated!

“An Oldie but a Goodie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

The Chateau Lacombe may not be the classy address it once was back in the 1970s but it really not bad. You get the feeling of an older established hotel when you enter the lobby but it also feels like an attempt has been made to keep up with the times. The room I had was very nice and comfortable with all the amenities that I expect at a hotel these days. The rooms are an odd shape because of the circular nature of the tower but have plenty of room.

I appreciated the breakfast buffet because it offered variations on the food each day. You weren't stuck with the same thing every day.

The staff were helpful and we checked in very quickly. Even the elevators were quick.

We ate in the lounge one night. the food was good and the service very friendly. If I ever need to stay in downtown Edmonton again I will definitely consider the Chateau Lacombe.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river valley.
