“Go to Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

This place is near our house and we found it soon after it opened. When we first went it was not crowded and we felt like it was our private domain. It has been crowded lately so I think it has been officially 'discovered'.

It is staffed with family members all of whom are quiet nice. I don't think the kids choose to be there but they are pleasent enough and if they recognize you they acknowledge the fact.

Decor is simple but coordinated. It is very bright, airy and clean.

The food is excellent. Our ususal dish is bun, a vermicelli noodle dish served with a variety of toppings. It is always to taste and we leave statisfied. The other dishes we have tried are just that little bit tastier than other similar restaurants in town. The portions are a good size and the price is quite resonable.

The Pho & Bun has become our new favorite restaurant in town. It is our 'go to' place. You should give it a try. You will not be disappointed

“A special place. It's a regular stop.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012 via mobile

Eat there often. Everything is very fresh, fun of flavor and always served with a smile. Family run place that's very clean and run with pride.

“Good family owned restaurant and well priced food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2012

We read other reviews on this restaurant prior to going. The food was good and very reasonably priced. Most dishes are around $9.95 and some are cheaper depending on if it's an appetizer or dish. This is a family run restaurant with some of the kids helping out. One of the critiques of this restaurant was that the kids weren't that friendly. My experience is that they're just young typically Gen-Y teenagers that help out but they're not there for a career per say. They weren't unfreindly; just not customer service smiley is all, but the brief interactions with them didn't detract from the good food or the friendly mom and dad that run the restaurant.

The Pho soups are good. We had a lemon grass beef soup that was a bit spicy. You can ask for less spice but they warn you that a lot of the flavour is in the spice. The chicken and shrimp dish was also very tasty (pour the provided sauce over everything). The only thing we had that was just ok was the green onion cake. It was just a doughy deep fried onion cake and we've had much better elsewhere. The ambiance is more of a cafeteria as they have a couple of big screen TVs playing sports but that didn't detract from our evening.

Overall this is a good restaurant for the price and there was a constant flow of patrons coming in to the restaurant throughout our time there which is a good sign, especially for an out-of-the-way neighborhood resaurant. I'd give it 4/5 stars.
