Description: For over twenty years, Santorini Greek Taverna has represented the best in Calgary’s Greek cuisine. Santorini was founded on the Greek values of filoxenia; literally the notion of befriending strangers. Thus, as all guests to Santorini quickly realize, they are immediately made part of the family, whether laughing with host Maria’s comedic personality or joining in on an uplifting Greek dance. While other Greek restaurants have attempted to reinvent a good thing, Santorini continues to offer the classic, authentic tastes of Greece in a welcoming, Mediterranean setting. With over 40 Greek dishes, it promises an unforgettable experience. At Santorini, every day is a celebration!

“Happy Valentine’s Day Santorini!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

The two of us decided to go to Santorini’s Greek Taverna for Valentine’s Day dinner. What a great decision it was!

Since neither of us are Greek food experts, we chose the Tavern Special. It had several plates of appetizers including a Greek salad. Each dish was hot, fresh and served promptly. The calamari was extremely tender – the best we’ve ever had!

The final plate served of the Special was the Lamb. It was very moist and it shredded off the bones so easy because of its tenderness. It was REALLY good! The roasted potatoes with it had great flavour and melted in our mouths. We picked Baklava for dessert. It was incredible!

Our server, who already worked a full day, gave my lady friend a surprise of a good shot of Zambuca. It was a very nice touch for her special night. We had fun with him as he taught us a quick lesson of the Greek pronunciation for “Good Night”.

All in all, we both agreed that we loved the restaurants’ ambiance, the delicious food and the service we received. We will DEFINITELY be back!! Give it a try..you’ll love it too!

“Excellent as always”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

We celebrated my mother-in-law's 60th birthday with a large group of friends and family. The food was nothing less than perfect and the service was excellent. They always treat our family as one of their own and you don't get that type of service any where else. We will be back again soon :)

“Horrible Service on New Years Eve”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We are a family of 4 who went to this Greek restaurant for our New Year's Eve celebration. However, we do not get greeted for over 15 minutes. It took this very waiter another 15 minutes to take our drinks over. Another 15 minutes yet to place an order; it has to come to the point when I told my husband if he doesn't take our order for another 3 minutes. People who came 30 minutes later was greeted promptly; we literally counted, it was less than 5 minutes with house bread; which we didn't get. Food was only okay, the roasted lamb was dry and waiter did not show up and ask about the food until we are 80% done. I do not understand why we get this very 'special service' by this waiter. We do not want to complain as this is the New Years Eve and still gave a generous tip of 15%, however, I will now be very open about not coming back to this very restaurant ever!

“Tasty, home-cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

Restaurant is located on a busy thoroughfare so there is no "view". Inside is ordinary, tile floor and wooden tables and chairs with a few photos from Greece. Service was very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty but on the expensive side. $25 for a simple souvlaki dinner with potatoes, rice and veg on side ... I would have expected about $18. Tasted like a homecooked meal .. portions were a good size.
