“Night out”

Great rooms. Nice and chic. Beds were extremely comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was great, not watery tasting. Had a great live band playing in the casino. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Saw this hotel online and booked it for the 'new' factor. Modern decor with an aboriginal theme. Simple and elegant. The bed was very comfortable and well appointed with all of the usual amenities. I would have liked a bathtub but that is due to personal preference and the fact that we spent the day moving our daughters furniture! The complimentary breakfast was delicious and fresh-included hash browns, eggs, bacon, yogurt, fresh fruit and an assortment of baked goods. My only complaint has more to do with our integrated GPS than the hotel itself. We made a bit of an effort finding this place!

My Girlfriend and I stayed at the Resort on the 22nd of May, and absolutely loved it! The lobby is beautifully decorated, looks modern but very welcoming at the same time, The staff, though still in training, seemed to know what they were doing! Then there was the room! it was amazing! We stayed in the King room, and it was so spacious! it was well decorated, the shower was huge, and the bed may have been the most comfortable thing I've ever slept on! they did not waste money and those beds! and as an added bonus you get a complimentary hot breakfast buffet! which is wonderful! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Calgary! you most certainly will not be disappointing!

We got lucky finding this very new hotel, i did not expect that our stay here will be so good.
The staff at the front desk was very accomodating, helpful and knowledgable about all our queries.
The hotel itself was so clean and refreshing, the carpets has no smell that's why i love it. Internet was high speed. TV was flatscreen mounted on the wall. Lots of complimentary coffee in our room in keurig cups! And what we loved the most was the buffet breakfast because there were lots of choices, i love their bacon! And after a long stroll of the city we swimmed in their pool too, which was open till 11pm. Live entertainment was available too at the casino. Gym was also in their facilities and some computers used for chat i guess if you dont have any gadget with you. Great location too. The beds are so comfy too and the blankets are not the ones you usually see in other hotels. We stayed here for 2 nights, and all in all we loved this hotel and will definitely book in here again. highly recommended!

I have to send out a special thanks to the Housekeeping Executive as I had left something in our room and received it in the mail two days after I called about it. Thank you.

The staff who were all very friendly and tried hard to sort things out, are still being trained on various computer systems that aren't up and running and no one has taught them how to do manual overrides :-(. That being said, maintenance fix for the air conditioner was to turn off the unit, keeping only the fan running. I can't blame them when no one has shown them how to fix things. Construction was ongoing outside so don't expect to sleep in.

We stayed here recently and were surprised that they are open. The heating/air conditioning throughout the hotel is an issue, particularly in the guest rooms. The furniture is modern Scandinavian (I.e. not comfortable). The restaurant in the hotel itself has a buffet breakfast that if it was done better would be quite nice but half cooked bacon and overcooked cold scrambled eggs put a damper on breakfast.

The staff who were all very friendly and tried hard to sort things out, are still being trained on various computer systems that aren't up and running and no one has taught them how to do manual overrides :-(.

Our room on the third floor (think that was the only floor being used when we stayed there) was adequate but the poor ventilation system put a damper on our stay. If we turned it off, the room got stifling hot, but with it on, between the noise of the fan and the cool air, the room was too cold.
Decor was stark and bare - no pictures on the wall and one uncomfortable armless chair for a room with two guests. Shower head was located rather low - and I'm not tall.

I'm also puzzled by the lack of First Nations history in the lobby and elsewhere (along the walkway between the hotel and casino for example. All other casino resorts we have stayed in in both Canada and USA have included proudly some parts of their heritage to share with their guests. There was one picture in the lobby (not yet mounted). Please, share your heritage with us.

Hello Downeyb

Thank you very much for your review and to express your concerns that the hotel is not quite ready for guests. Well 2 weeks after opening you are 100% correct we were not up to full efficiency and this is why all of our guests in the first month received a rate between $99 to $119 roughly 40% off. The rate was low because we felt that this is how much fellow guest should pay until we are running more efficiently. All the air conditioning units have been fixed the complimentary full hot Canadian breakfast with fresh first nation bannock is delicious and the bacon issue has been resolved. The décor in the lobby was late arriving at the hotel and is fixed with all First Nation items including many of our signs and sculptures. I recommend coming back to the property to see if your concerns have been addressed, we would be thrilled to see you again!

Sincerely,

Kevin Yates

Very nice hotel. Room smells brand new. Beddings are clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Free buffet breakfast, free wi-fi, kids will enjoy the resort pool. Small pool but good enough. Casino is just a min walked away where a a buffet can be enjoyed. If you arrive late and looking for food, there's a restaurant/bar in the casino for take out food. Will surely recommend this hotel and will book here every summer.

Stayed for one night, hotel is brand new, very contemporary styled. Comfy beds, high quality linens, great bathroom with walk in shower. Full cooked breakfast is included in the room rate, which makes for outstanding value for money. Great location just off Glenmore Trail, plenty of parking with casino on the same property. One downside was the air con was not working in the room, when I spoke to the front desk about this they offered to move us, but did say that they were having issues with the cooling in a lot of rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side have great mountain views, east side gets parking lot.
