“Hockey!!!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Just your average hockey crowd, what else can you say. Beer, goods to sell, game was good. Trying to get out of the parking lot when you live out of town is a nightmare. The regular NHL experience, hubby loved it.

“Unique Arena”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

First I'll correct Backpack Tim, the beer is priced at $8 for 18oz compared to the same price in Vanouver for a 10oz beer, in fact it has consistently been the lowest priced of all Canadian Arenas. Prices are comparable to those at a movie theatre and some are less. Some of the best seats in the house for Flames games are in the nosebleeds (with their own jumbo screen TV's) if you like to see the entire ice surface , and there are concessions and washrooms up there. You can tour the building for free on any day that no event is taking place. We may not have NHL at the moment, but there is Junior Hockey, We will have professional Lacrosse Jan - Apr. and lots of concerts. There is lots of memorabilia around the building, including some from the 88 winter Olympics. Also there are meeting venues available.

“great place to watch a game”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Lots going on during breaks in play and intermission. Makes other arenas seem boring. Great views from the lower bowl. The only negative thing is the task of getting home. Thankfully we figured out you need to walk to the casino and catch a cab there as the cabs can not get close to the arena. Overall a great hockey experience.

“Love the things I see there, hate the venue”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

I'm currently traveling the world and I learned something very interesting; other cultures do not try to absolutely gouge captive audiences when you go to a football game, opera or concert. Prices are SLIGHTLY above normal. In Calgary, you get economically raped once you are inside a building where your dollar MUST be spent there and it's absolute crap. The Saddledome has to go down as the most egregious example of this practice. Plus, their $10 "heroin beer" is legendary...draft beer that gives you the worst hangover after a hockey game. Hey Saddledome...clean your lines once in a while! Lastly and most importantly, it was a nice concept to make it look like a Saddle but the shape makes it impossible for many band stage setups to play here. They should blow the place up.

At least sightlines are decent, otherwise they'd get a one from me.

If you agree with my rating, give me a vote.

“Calgary Landmark”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Its just a nice venue for so many different events tho its not my fave for hearing concerts as most SPORTS arenas dont have the sound quality you would want easy to get around in easy to get to by C-train for events.
