The cleverly names Yellow Door Bistro boasts a giant yellow door and the decor/atmosphere are just as exciting as the entrance. The food is pretty good and worth a try. The only weird thing was the macaroons made by the chef - they do not look like macaroons I've seen before, but still yummy. They have little cute boxes for them and again, worth a try!

“Good, but there are better bistros in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

Yellow Door hasn't been open for long but it is already popular. It's a nice room and it was very busy on a Wednesday evening, so busy that service had a hard time keeping up (this could just be a sign of the restaurant getting its legs). I had the onion soup (too much bread after the nice complementary bread selection provided) and the cassoulet with sous vide duck and pork belly - very rich as expected, but more refined than I am used to. A couple of glasses of wine, both of which were ok and not too expensive - there are some silly expensive choices on the wine menu which is only offered electronically (some people probably think is cool and others - like me - think it is unnecessary). Everything was good - but just good, not wow. There are better bistros in town, between Avec, Fleur de Sel and Cassis. Still, if you are staying at the Hotel Arts, or don't feel like walking a few blocks to one of the other places, Yellow Door is a good choice.
