“Suits some maybe”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Unfortunately this is not a good review, we arrived at the end of a wonderful trip from Vancouver through the Rockies to Calgary, on arriving at the property we were greeted with a small dog and a cat and although the cat was friendly (the dog wasn't) she had obviously had the run of the whole house including the beds and all the kitchen work surfaces for sometime. Every surface was covered in thick dust, hair and paw prints, the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a long time.
The back yard which was stated as an area for relaxation. . was anything but and was covered in dog mess, hair and huge bones, we understood there was a dog run but were led to believe there was a BBQ area that was separate, after staying in hotels for most of the trip we had been looking forward to being able to relax in the garden. The amount of animal hair caused an issue for me as I am mildly asthmatic, I fully admit that I should have thought ahead and checked on how much of the house the animals had access to but as a large dog owner myself I don't think it's too hard to keep animals and still have a nice home, so that was my expectation. This was all such a shame as the house and facilities could have been wonderful. We decided not to end the holiday on such a depressing note and moved to a hotel (which during the stampede was not easy to find and very expensive when we did!) The owner despite starting off being reasonable soon renegaded on her offer to reimburse all of our money and was in the end abusive and rude. luckily we had only paid $200 ahead so this was all we lost . . but it was an expensive lesson overall (with the added cost of the move to a hotel) Don't rely on photos and description bearing any resemblance to the actual!!

This is a very accommodating place to stay, It may not be your typical B&B as breakfast is not included but you can go to the shops and have full access to the kitchen facilities for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you cant ask for more if you are looking to save some pennies. It may be a little out of the city but its a short 2 minute drive to a train station where you can get straight into city center. Caroline is super friendly, helpful and only to happy to have a quick chat and give any information that she can. You have to like dogs as there are 2 of them that roam the house are friendly enough.
