I know that years ago, hotel restaurants were not the best but over the last couple years most hotels restaurants have taken great strides to improve the quality of the dining experience. This was one of my worst hotel experiences i have had in many many years.
Around 9:00AM, we walked into the dining room and was greeted by the hostess, she said hi then did nothing, we had to ask to be seated. Once we were seated, i decided to have the breakfast buffet and my partner had the "Traditional Eggs Benny".
With a price $21 for the buffet, i expected to be wowed but i was flabbergasted. The presentation on the tables made it look great but then the food! The oatmeal was tasteless, the french toast soggy and cold, the pancakes cold, stale and hard, the pastries were cheap mass-produced dry crap. Saving graces was that the server offered to have the kitchen make a fresh omelet and she had the kitchen make fresh pancakes. Unfortunately even the fresh pancakes were dry and tasteless. They tasted as if they came from a pre-mix and were not made from scratched. The Hollandaise sauce on my partners Eggs Benedict was also a pre-mix and not made from scratch. IF the chef wants to say they are not a pre-mix then he should seriously check his recipe.
The only saving grace was the server. She was great in trying to deal with the issues.
