“Heavy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

Great tasting modern take on comfort food, but way too heavy for me. We made the mistake of getting an appetizer, and were faced with huge amounts of meat, heavy starches and rich sauces. Definitely an experience, but we left feeling the pain on into the next day. Once a year only.

“Wish they didn't fry everything in peanut oil...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

which made it an uncomfortable evening for my peanut-allergic son. However, the food was inspired and delicious, and the decor and architecture are super cool. Weird name, but everything else is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

“A Model Meal & Evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

We went during the Cgy Stampede - had tix for Chucks/G.stand show - walking along 17 Ave we decided to stop in - had heard great things !! We weren't dissapointed ! Sat near the front - lounge - by the open windows, atmosphere was light & lovely, service was impeccable - young lady who waited on us described everything making it jump off the menu. My husband had the 'infamous' chicken & waffles (they aren't on the menu all the time but they ARE FABULOUS !!) He was in HEAVEN and thoroughly enjoyed the special beer he had with it. I can't recall :(what I had, but I know it was fabulous. We ARE going again - will be an alternating date night spot with a couple others in town we love. BTW - the inside of the restaurant is really tastefully done and there's LOTS of great seating. LOVE this restaurant !!

“Outstanding food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

Last night we dined here for the first time - not the last to be sure. The menu is divided into small plates and large plates. Four of us ordered different items and were delighted with everything that arrived. We enjoyed fricassee of calamari, ahi tuna tostada, veal couquettes and my personal favorite, ham hock and mushroom egg en cocotte with fry bread. It was exceptional. For mains we had their outstanding burger (fresh ground in house beef brisket so you can have burger any way you like - fries were not exceptional but okay), steak that had been smoked, cooked sous vide and then grilled, fried Maple Hill chicken (chicken thighs stuffed with chicken sausage and deep fried) with cheddar waffle, and a whole roasted trout with peanut cucumber salad. For dessert - apple pie with ice cream or yummy ice cream sandwiches, unlike any from my youth I can assure you. Did not find it pretentious at all. Excellent staff.

“This restaurant is recommended for posers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

Would never come back for a burger with McCain Super Fries on the side.
People around us were more concerned with how they looked in the establishment than the quality or choices of food on the menu.
People don't be fooled to think your in some Manhattan hot spot, there are plenty of other outstanding restaurants down the street to throw away a hundred dollars.
