“Best breakfast place ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Read great reviews on this place and when visiting Calgary decided to give it a try. When we arrived there was a line-up and were told that the wait would be 55 min. We almost decided not to wait and go elsewhere, but so glad we waited. Totally worth it. Had a huge buttermilk pancake with chicken/blueberry sausages and fruit. Incredible! Also, ordered their cherry/strawberry smoothie and hubby ordered the pineapple/coconut - would come back just for these. Excellent quality and loved the atmosphere.

“love love luv this place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We found this place with urbanspoon and did we ever luck out!! Amazing, fun and relaxed environment. The food was worth the wait. We will be going back. The only thing is everyone is crammed in, very tight tables and chairs, plus there is no entry way to speak off so when patrons are standing and waiting for a table it is very cramped. No matter the food and atmosphere were great and we loved it.

“Chef Mauro is a genius with food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

My wife had the French Toast Trifle, and it was so good that tears actually came to her eyes and goosebumps rose on her arms, something that has only happened once before in her life. So thank you, Chef Mauro, for food so wonderful that we'll have a story to tell forever.

“When you gotta lineup, you know the locals love it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

This tiny little breakfast place is easily missed driving down the street, and perhaps the locals enjoy it that way, cuz when I've gone, there's always a line out the door, or crammed into the foyer waiting for seats.
Went with some friends and left stuffed. Had the Threesome: pancake, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit garnish. My buddy had the soul in a bowl: which is kind of their version of a breakfast poutine- herb potatoes covered with brown butter hollandaise, thick cut bacon lardons (think chunks), and 2 poached eggs... he could not finish it!
The service was fun, a bit sassy, and fun to see a mixed crowd of hipsters, moms and pops, students etc.. enjoying their brekkie/brunch.
Be warned that you may have to wait to be seated, but you'll enjoy the food once you can plant yourself and enjoy.

“Long wait, but worth it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Turned up at around 10am which meant quite a long wait (almost an hour) and we had to wait outside because there were so many people crammed together waiting inside. It might be better to turn up really early, or later because when we left at 11:30am or so it was still packed with a long wait. (Although when we left the staff were serving those in line coffee and cake so that was nice to see even though we didn't get any.)

Once we got seated our orders came quickly. The food was definitely worth the wait in line - generous portions and all delicious. Their spinache-feta-shrimp-tomato scramble was terrific. I've also never been given such a great fruit 'garnish.' We got 5 different kinds of fruit in good portions.

The service was very friendly and fast despite how busy they were and the prices were fair - they seemed a little steep at first, but after eating, it's completely justified.

Will definitely be back again, but hopefully earlier to try and avoid the traffic jam of people.
