5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Stopped by for appetizers, desert and wine. Amazing food and the staff were incredibly helpful. Wine selection was great and reasonable prices. Will go back.

“sit by the bar!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

We were looking for a fun place to celebrate a small victory in life, so someone recommended this interesting little place. From the street it does not look like much and perhaps that is the best part. Normally I would have gone for a table but with no reservations (not like you could get one here) we quickly jumped at the opportunity of grabbing a spot by the bar.

It was a great delight to see the care that went into making every dish, each time something came up, it instantly became a conversation piece. Even our waitress seemed just as excited as we were about the food. They had a few select and delightful vegetarian options that were a big hit with us. Not only that but the chefs were on cue to see our reaction to the food coming up, the attention to detail was outstanding and our glass was always full of great wine.

We will definitely be back, in my opinion this is truly the most genuine tapas bar that Calgary has to offer and definitely up there with some of the best little places to discover in Canada.

“More interesting than I'd expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

This is not just a wine bar but also serves beer and tapas-type dishes. Everything we ordered was fine but sometimes hard to share (for example, it was hard to cut up the ham into individual servings). The music was too loud for a conversation... and this was in the late afternoon, when the place was pretty empty.

“Quaint & Intimate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

It was a much needed mom's night out and we wanted wine! We decided to try our the Wine Bar in Kensington since it was relatively close to home. When we got there it was packed, but within minutes we were able to grab a couple seats up at the bar and watch the Chef(s) at their craft. We ordered a couple appy's to share. The fresh baguette, appenzeller “fondue” was lovely, marinated turkish olives salty but tasty, wilted arugula, wild white prawns, habenero salt, butter sauce out of this world delish and finally a simple bocconcini/tomato salad (our veggies dish) was as delectable as the rest. A glass of prosecco and a shared panna cotta dessert rounded our evening. Just fabulous!
