“Business hotel in heart of the downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

I stayed for a week at this hotel on business. Best part about hotel is of course the location, right in centre. Hotel is connected to plus15 enabling you to move around downtown in heavy snow or rain. I found their breakfast buffet to have the usual spread, some more variety would have been nice. Rooms were well appointed. All in all its what you will expect from a 5 star business hotel nothing more nothing less. Staff at reception was however very helpful which is somewhat hard to find in hotels of western countries.

Good option for a business stay. Everyone was nice and the location is perfect. The bar is nice as are the rooms. There were always plenty of cabs too, which helped during bad weather. Might not be my favorite, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'd stay here again.

I recently had occasion to stay at the Hyatt in Calgary Alberta. The room was very clean and well appointed. The bed super comfortable with lots of pillows. The front desk was very helpful and could not do enough for us. The underground parking that came free with the room was very very good. Looking for parking around hotels is always stressful but this underground that was just one floor below the check in was very close and you didnt have to traverse a mile of underground dragging your luggase. Very much a high point.

This was my first time at this hotel. The service from check in to check out was great. I dined with a person who required gluten free food and the Thomsons staff were very helpful with recommendations.

This is usually my favourite hotel in Calgary. This time around, though, I was very disappointed. The room was wonderful, that's not my issue. My husband and I arrived for a nice long weekend getaway to find there was no bell staff when we drove up to check in. There was a sign in front of the parking garage saying the lot was full and to see a bellman for help. When we went to the front desk, the staff was aloof and not at all concerned with the fact that the parking garage was full. She said we've have to park across the street and then walk back. That's not really a big deal, either. I just thought her attitude was poor. This was definitely not the Hyatt Regency Calgary service that I have enjoyed in the past. To top off this really poor first impression, there were three young guys standing at the concierge desk goofing around right in front of me. I was amazed that they would be allowed to get away with this. I was happy with our room, and the baked goods in the coffee shop in the lobby were absolutely wonderful. The service was also excellent in the coffee shop. The barista behind the counter was really nice and took the time to make small talk with me.

We used to stay at the Palliser in Calgary, part of the Fairmont Chain but this has sadly gone down hill. This hotel is ideally located in the centre of the city. Wifi worked well. The bed was great for sleeping and being severely jetlagged this was great. We got this on Hotwire for 112 and except for the 29 extra for self parking was a very great deal.

Room Tip: No problems with noise here!

This is a very conveniently located, modern hotel with really good services and friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again. The parking is a little spendy, but it is like that for all of the downtown hotels. It is located right next to some very nice restaurants too.
