“Solid Service at the Sheraton”

Sheraton Cavalier Hotel

Jul 11, 2007

I have stayed here twice in the last couple of months now for work and while I would much rather be downtown it's been a perfect spot for access to my office and to clients.

Check in and check out has always been incredibly fast. The service at the pub and through room service is quick, friendly and high in quality (on my first stay they messed up my room service order and gave me $25 towards a future stay which was exceptional for the mistake that was made). The pub lacks ambiance - unless you like video lottery machines clinging and chiming in the background - but it was nice to have options in a restaurant. There is also a nice lobby lounge, a steakhouse and another restaurant geared towards families all in the hotel. They also have a great little shop in the lobby for snacks, coffee and light meals. As far as serving their customers they have you covered!

There is a waterslide in this hotel so if you have kids - they will have a blast!! The gym is right beside the waterslide but completely seperated. It's small but satisfactory. It has 2 treadmills, a couple of bikes and elyptical machines. There isn't much space to do free weights but there is enough room if you manage to go when it isn't too busy. My only complaint with this gym is that you have to walk through the lobby to get to it. I really prefer not to have to parade around such a busy area sweaty but what can you do?! It does add a bit of security knowing that the front desk staff see everyone that goes in or out of the gym.

Other added touches - the internet is wireless so you can pay for 2 days for $20 and get 48 hours of service and use it anywhere in the hotel.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. They aren't spectacular or modern but I thought they were fair value for the price I paid ($189 + tax).

As for location - well it's a 10 minute drive from the airport. It's minutes away from Sunridge Mall. There are many different restaurants around it (White Spot, Earls, Joey Tomatoes) and it's an easy spot to get onto the Deerfoot from. It's certainly not a spot for a tourist or for a leisure traveller unless you want to keep your kids entertained on the waterslide. There isn't much around it for attractions or things to see unless you like looking at industrial properties or big box retail. But, if you have to be in that area it's a great place to stay.

“Good Business Hotel”

I stayed here on business for two nights in June of 2007. Room was clean, quite and comfortable. High speed internet access was excellent (paid $19.95 for 48 hours and included cable). Once you paid for the access you were also given a password for all of the wireless areas of the hotel. We had a very nice dinner in the hotel restaurant (steak house), great service everywhere. Did not visit the pool or excercise room. Free Airport shuttle was nice but a little slow. When we called from the airport we were told 15 minutes but it was more like 30. I would suggest taking a taxi if not coming out of your pocket.
Overall a very good experience.

We stayed at the Cavalier for a weedend out with the kids (2). The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was great. The only thing that was a little disappointing was there was no continental breakfast and it was a little pricey. We had a great time though.

“Nice Hotel”

Sheraton Cavalier Hotel

Mar 21, 2007

My wife and I used this hotel on March 15, 2007 for one night and found the staff accommadating and very friendly. It's very nice when you arrive at a hotel and they have everything ready for you without any problems at all. Our room was very nice and well appointed. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and found the staff evry good and we recieved good value for the price we paid. We normally stay at the Westin downtown but found that we could not get a room at a reasonable price, I guess that's what happens when you live in a province with a red hot economy. All in all we had a very good experience with the Sheraton.

Just got back from Calgary and felt compelled to write a review. I thought the Hotel was fantastic. The beds are bigger than my front room at home and the concierge service was superb. He couldnt do enough to help hire a car to make the journey to Banff.

The pool is fantastic and with a choice of two restaurants every budget is taken care of. Great location with easy access from the Airport (Free Shuttle) and downtown.

Would definatly stay here again
