“Lovely pet friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

My husband and I spent one night in Calgary along with our two dogs at the start of our 3 day our journey to Henderson NV. We were greeted with a very friendly front desk staff who were most accommodating to us. The room was very nice, exactly what we asked for and very clean. We have spent many nights at "dog friendly" hotels only to be put on the oldest and dirtiest Floors. We have become accustomed to those kind of accommodations. That all changed at the Sheraton Cavalier.

The room was very comfortable, the mattresses were new and we had a wonderful sleep.

Thank you so much for your comments. We are proud to be a pet friendly hotel. We understand that when you travel with your pets keeping them comfortable and feeling welcome is as important for them as it is for our "people" guests! We hope you choose us as your accommodation of choice whenever you find yourselves in Calgary!

I stay ofetn in YYC and prefer to be at or near the airport. The Delta at YYC is by far the best placed but it loses out elsewhere in comparison to the Sheraton; which has bigger rooms, better in-room amenties, more modern interiors and a far better guest friendly reception area. The staff are helpful and its only draw back is that the airport is just a little further sicne they shut the McNight Blvd entrance to the airport restulting in an addtional 8 km;s for what is in essence an airport hotel.
It is however worth the longer commute. Nice bathrooms, complimentary water and helpful staff make this a very good airport hotel - though there are better located hotels if you need to be down town

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We understand the city closing of the major roadway to the airport is a frustration. We have been very active in lobbying for the airport tunnel for easier access and it will be completed in early 2014. We realize it is a little more time consuming to get here in the meantime but we hope that our newest product reveal with just over $12M in renovations will be worth it! We now feature the new "Sheraton Fitness by Core Performance" which has just opened and we are curretnly underway with the restaurant renovation. Please come back and visit us soon. We are a respite from the high cost of downtown parking fees as we offer complimentary parking!

This is the third time I have been to the Sheraton Cavalier in Calgary for business. The hotel is easy to get to, just off the Deerfoot trail and surrounded by many restaurants if you wish to eat outside the hotel. Some of my group ate at the hotel bar and the food was delicious and the service very good.
This trip our meeting was in the McKnight East boardroom. This room is perfect for smaller groups, we had 30 folks at our meeting. The meeting rooms have all be refurbished since our last visit and wow, very nice. New comfortable chairs and beautiful lighting.
The staff are first class, polite and attentive. Martin our coordinator couldn't have done enough for us.
The guest rooms are large and bright with wonderful beds, very comfortable mattress with pillows that you just melt into!
We will definitely use this hotel again for our meeting.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool area can be a little noisy until pool closing.

This hotel has beautiful decor, the room was one of the best I'd ever seen! The beds were fantastic to sleep in and the room service food was delicious. A bit expensive, but typical of room service. The water park was way better than I had anticipated and my daughter had a ball, and as an adult, I actually had fun, too! The staff were friendly and helpful. I cannot remember a hotel experience this good in a very long time, and having been a flight attendant, I have seen MANY.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the second floor overlooking the water park, if you have to get up early :)

Everything was great from the minute the hotel shuttle picked me up at the airport, til checkout. Friendly, polite, accommodating staff, clean rooms and an overall great facility. I would highly recommended this hotel to anyone staying in Calgary.

Stayed two nights on business. Meetings were near the airport in a neighboring hotel, but I chose the Sheraton because of it's great reviews.
After a very speedy and friendly check in I found my room to be very large, modern and clean. I was staying in a standard king room which included a sitting area with small pullout sofa, coffee table and work desk. Glass surround shower was huge and bed was very comfortable. Complimentary bottled water and single brew Starbucks coffee was a plus.
North east Calgary is not the nicest part of town so its a bit of a drive to the more desirable parts of town, but the convenience of the airport is a plus for an early morning flight. Take note that Barlow trail is now closed to the airport so its a bit longer of a drive than a couple years ago.
My only real complaint is that the hotel doesn't provide complimentary wifi access. I had to pay around $15 for internet during my stay which seems a bit silly considering rooms here aren't cheap. If wifi was included, I would have given an 'Excellent' review.
Will definitely stay again.

We were hunting for an ideal location for a three night stay in Calgary that would be suitable for an extended family of seven people (2 grandparents - that's us! 3 grandchildren, son and daughter-in-law). We wanted two sets of very nice rooms, and our daughter-in-law really wanted access some good waterslides for the children. Other requirements were access to breakfast that could feed children emerging at various times of the morning and still have a quiet haven for adults to eat and linger over coffee. After an extensive review we booked two suites at the Sheraton Cavalier Calgary Hotel on a summer special - pay the first night and the cost of subsequent nights are by the year of your birth. This turned out to be great value for money, for two spacious suites. The suites were extremely comfortable, and we could accommodate all three grandchildren in the living room of one of the suites, with their parents still having a quiet place to retreat to as a room of their own. We loved being on the same floor but having our own quiet space in the second suite down the hall. However, it was the staff on the Club floor lounge that made the mornings work. Their breakfasts are excellent and they are the nicest and most helpful folks you would ever hope to meet. The other highlight of course was that the hotel has an excellent set of waterslides with warm water, and a smaller area that is good for the younger children. If you want a central location rather than a location near the airport then this would not be your choice of property. However, we had family flying in from eastern Canada on a late night arrival and had cars to get around, and it posed no problem whatsoever. As with all bookings, it is important to know what you want and do not want, and search accordingly. The stay at the Sheraton Cavalier met our family's needs very well indeed. We particularly appreciated the note from the Hotel General Manager, Curtis Fernets advising at the time of reservation that if there was anything special they could do in preparation for our stay, to please contact them. We did so with respect to sleeping arrangements for the grandchildren and the need to get beds organized for their late night arrival and they were very helpful. Check in and check out was very pleasant, and the one correction we needed to our hotel rate for the first night stay was attended to immediately and a replacement email statement of account was issued.

We are appreciative that the Sheraton staff made this such a wonderful start for a two week extended family vacation throughout the interior of British Columbia.

Room Tip: The only important factor that could be a plus of minus for this hotel is to ensure it has the locat...
