“Clean rooms, would definitely go back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Stayed at this hotel for two nights and would definitely go back! Front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly and our room was clean and affordable. We also had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the food was tasty. One downfall: they only serve Starbucks coffee, so if you're not a fan (like myself) you may need to pick up a coffee elsewhere after breakfast.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

I had a very comfortable 4 night stay in this hotel. The beds are deluxe and the rooms are clean with a good work area and a strong internet signal, as this was a business trip for me. The staff go out of their way to accommodate guests, the restaurant serves good food, and there is a 24 hr gym, pool and whirlpool. There was a problem with the desk chair and voice mail, both of which were fixed immediately and at checkout, the staff removed a lunch bill on my account as compensation for not having received two voice mail messages. That was nice. Not true, a previous guest's comments about no vending machines. There is a drinks machine on the 3rd floor and a snacks machine off the main lobby in the exercise area. The shuttle was waiting at the airport upon my arrival, and during my stay, as a courtesy, the shuttle took me to the nearest metro station before taking other guests to the airport. There is a gas station with convenience store just across the parking lot, a 24 hr restaurant just next to the station, and public transport to anywhere in the city outside the restaurant. My only criticism of this hotel would be the decor, which is rather dull. The lobby is a wonderful circular space and would be spectacular with a round fireplace surrounded by comfortable couches and cushions and accentuated with more interesting colours. This would definitely draw in more customers. I would stay here again, everyone was very nice and the street noise is minimal.

Room Tip: Ask for a room high up with a view of the city and the mountains

This hotel has a very nice lobby but the rooms were disapointing. The beds were surprisingly uncomfortable, the bathroom had massive chips in the bathtub, and the sinks pipes were leaking onto the floor. The rooms were very dated compared to the lobby and restaurants. There are no vending machines in the hotel, you have to walk to the gas station down the street. We tried to get a shuttle to the airport for the next morning but the ONE shuttle was booked for the time that we needed it so the only option was too leave an hour earlier or an hour later as they only have one small (8 person) shuttle that leaves only once an hour. On our trip home we called the hotel to get a shuttle to pick us up from the airport and they told us that the bus would pick us up in an hour and a half and that was the absolute soonest it could come. We ended up having to pay for a taxi to the hotel instead even though we chose this hotel for the airport shuttle. Our family has stayed at this hotel in the past and the hotel used to pick you up and drop you off whenever you needed, this is not the case anymore and we will be staying elsewhere on future trips

Thank for taking the time to share. It is dissapointing to hear that we failed to meet your expectations during your recent stay. It is always our desire to deliver 100% Guest Satisfaction, and hope that you had a chance to let us know before you left. Please contact me directly at mberube@silverbirchhotels.com, and I would be happy to discuss your stay further and ensure that we made it right for you.
In regards to our services, we do have soda vending located on each floor, and a snack vending machine located on the lobby level. We also have an onsite gift shop, but understand that the hours may not have aligned with your needs.
We are also happy to provide complimentary 24/7 shuttle service to/from the airport. This service is provided on a first come first serve basis, and on occassion, our guests may be required to travel on an alternate time. On occasion, traffic may create long delays, adding up to an extra hour in travel. In these cases, we will attempt to make alternate arrangements for our arriving guests. We do apologize for this inconvenience.

I thank you once again, and look forward to speaking with you.

Well... everything here in Calgary is more expensive than the states... including the hotels. This was a decent place with friendly service. The rooms are clean and Sleep Number beds are tops! There are a few updates needed but all in all was a good stay. I just prefer a free continental breakfast instead of paying out the nose!

I had got a king size executive suite. It was a nice room.

Had a few issues with the upper bed sheet. But that was fixed.

No movie channels. Kinda sucks.

Traffic noise was not to bad.

Bathroom was small.

And out of 2 nights the second night we were kept up by noisey ppl over us.

All in all was ok but really not worth more than 130.00 per night. They charge more.

I will look for another place to stay when in Calgary.

We appreciate you taking the time to complete a survey regarding your recent stay with us.

On behalf of our entire staff here at the Radisson Hotel Calgary Airport, we are thrilled that you enjoyed your suite with us. Over the years, the demand for pay movies has decreased, and therefore made the decision to remove this system over a year ago. In regards to some noisy people, this is difficult to control, but do ask if ever you encounter this, please make a call to the front desk, so that someone can attend to the room. Thank you for your business and we hope to see you again when your travels bring you back to the area!

Please let me know if I can ever be of service.

Because I'd had an awesome first stay at this hotel, we chose it for our overnight hotel when we returned from another trip. We got to the hotel at 11:30 pm to find that our rooms had been given away despite us having booked the rooms 3 months in advance with a credit card guarantee. We needed 5 beds for 5 very tired women and the hotel only offered us two rooms with a bed each forcing us to share beds with each other and sleep on cots. This was a horrid end to our trip and I was livid. There were no apologies from the desk staff, just shoulder shrugs. In the morning we were offered the rooms at half price, which helped, but I would think twice before staying here again. When we book hotels for return flights from holidays we want comfort, peacefulness and a good sleep. We got none of these at the Radisson. What was the point in booking ahead? While I was prepared to go across the road to the Holiday Inn that night, my travel mates just wanted to stay and go to bed, so the majority ruled. I was not a happy camper. And campers we were on cots.

Thank you for posting your comments. It is unfortunate to hear that we were not able to accommodate your requests. We always work very hard to ensure that we meet our guests expectations, and provide the room type that was reserved. In this scenario, I am not familiar with your original request, as your stay was quite some time ago. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss in more detail, and ask for you to reach out to me at mberube@silverbirchhotels.com.

As you have experienced a wonderful stay in the past, I am certain we can regain your confidence.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Only offered an hourly shuttle, so add another 20 CAD to the room price for a taxi.
Food in the restaurant was terrible and room was poor.
Totally non smoking hotel. Nothing to recommend it really. Not that close to the airport. Probably better to go for the on airport hotels.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback in regards to our hotel. We are sorry to hear that you may not have enjoyed the hotel and services as much as we would have liked. While not the closest to the airport, we are conveniently located between the Airport and the City Centre, and will continue to provide complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport.
I would be happy to discuss your thoughts in regards to our restaurant and room. Please feel free to contact me directly, mberube@silverbirchhotels.com.
