“Animals come first”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

Large zoo located on an island with three areas of birds and animals from Eurasia; South America and Africa then across the bridge to the mainland for the Prehistoric Park;Antarctica and Canadian Wilds. Good size enclosures and well looked after animals. The zoo participates in conservation research with breeding programmes for endangered species. Geared up for school trips; large parties and wheelchair friendly. Restaurant; gift shop; playground washrooms and designated smoking area.

“I love Zoos anyhow but this one is great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

I have been to Zoos all over the world and this one is top notch. The enclosures and space for the animals is very well done, tremendously friendly and helpful staff that really care about the animals they are taking care of. This is a BIG place, bring your walking shoes and figure on spending the whole day.

On site bathrooms are plentiful and clean. They even have designated smoking areas to keep the smokers happy but separate from the rest of the guests.

Nice thing is, admittance is reasonable and the on site food and beverage is affordable so if you are taking a family you can actually afford to feed them on site.

“Our kids LOVED it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

It was wonderful - especially the penguins! Our entire family had an absolute blast all day. It's clean, you feel safe, and it's great value since we spent the entire day there and still didn't see everything.

“The Penquin are AWESOME!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We spent several hours at the zoo. Started the day with the penguins and several hours later we revisited the penguin area. There are four different breeds of penguins; some were nesting, building nests and stealing stones from each others nests. Most were swimming gracefully or walking to spot to dive in.
