My daughter & I went to the 17th Ave area to go to a different restaurant but the wait was so long, we walked down the street and found Farm. Luckily, they had two seats at the bar, which wasn't a bar per se but more of a counter. We watched with amazement as the chefs behind the bar created their delectable delights. It was very entertaining and truly amazing. A veritable dance of cooks. The service was incredible. Natalia was a gracious hostess/server, who was well versed in the menu choices. We decided to share our meal except for dessert. LOL We ordered the Market salad that had the ingredients on the big black board. It was very satisfying. The dressing was semi-sweet & a bit tangy but not overpowering. The pecans and feta cheese gave it texture as did the variety of fresh greens. We each got two large helpings. For our entree, we chose the crispy duck. It was very attractive when it was served. The asian coleslaw on which the duck sat, was refreshing and delicious. It complemented the duck well. The matchstick potatoes were the "cherry on the top". We also opted for the roasted potatoes served with creme fraiche. Yummy!!
We chose to have our own desserts. Okay I chose. My daughter loves carrot cake and she loved the cake she was served here. Luckily I got a small taste. It was a very moist cake served with the most delicious cream cheese icing that was not too sweet. Even if you are sharing, the piece would be big. I choose two desserts. I ordered a warm cookie and a macaroon. I watched the cookie going in and coming out of the oven. MMMmmmm But the macaroon was the clincher. OMG!! I only picked one - salted caramel chocolate. My only complaint was it should have been the size of a dinner plate. That macaroon was a memorable experience. I relished it with a cup or two of rich coffee.
This was a delightful evening and I can't wait to go back.
