Indeed, this is a pleasant hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient, and our room was spacious and clean. And the paintings on display throughout the place were all very nice (that was an unexpected pleasure).
But other than it's close proximity to the airport, the hotel is in the middle of no-where. If this suits you, then fine. Just be aware of it.
I didn't find the price ($160/night) that endearing, either. However, I don't know the prevailing market prices in Calgary, so I'm in no position to say it wasn't necessarily value for money.
TIP: The attached restaurant was good. With a very cool "all you can eat" bread bar where you can grill and add various butters and toppings to several different kinds of bread. Recommended.
