“adequate hotel, nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2005

We stayed for 3 nights in August and booked because of the really cheap rates. The staff were good and the restaurant was fine, the rooms were small and the hotel seemed tired and old. We have come to expect better than this from Holiday Inn. If you are looking for cheap, clean accomodation and nothing more than this hotel might be okay.

The room we received was tiny, with a small double bed and a pull-out couch. The couch was about six inches from the bed. The bedspread looked very shabby.

The worst thing about this room was the lack of heat. We froze! It was blowing cold air on us all night. In the morning we realized the baseboard heater was to be used for heat, even though there was no knob on it.

I would definitely not choose this hotel again.

Had a chance to stay at this hotel for 4 days in mid March and had a few concerns involving security. The rooms had no working air conditioning and the heat would not turn off. Windows would open, but would not lock.

On the other hand, this hotel does have a nice swimming pool and all outside entrances are locked.

You get what you pay for.

Old Hotel. Looks great from the outside, but when you get into your room you realise it is otherwise. Loud and noisy heater/AC kept us up all night and the bathroom had not been cleaned properly.

I did speak to the manager about the AC and the cleanliness issue, however nothing was done about it- not even an apology. So much for their "if you don't like it, you don't pay" policy.

No value for money- go to Hampton Suites on Banff Trail instead.

This hotel was great. It seemed very new. Rooms were well appointed and very clean. Room size was okay. The staff was extremely friendly. Parking was free. The hotel has in-house coin laundry facility. If you have a car, it is a great location as it is only about a 10 min drive from downtown. The pool and hot tub area was very nice.
