Based on the fact that this spa is inside the luxurious Palliser Hotel, I was expecting it to be just as luxurious, however was frankly disappointed. Based on the price point that they charge, they did not compare to other spas of the same caliber.
They did cater to my friend and I being able to complete all our services together, however the ladies room lacks sophistication; the tile in the shower stalls was old, there was hair and soap scum in the drain, no rain showers just Home Depot caliber shower heads with white sticky shower curtains…. I have a better shower at home. The robes were graying and looked really old, the towels were rough, no toiletries in the bathroom like hair dryers, cotton balls, Q-tips, sanitized hair brushed, tampons/pads, hair elastics etc that other spas do offer. My nail polish from my manicure chipped 2 days later, the technician who did my facial had major bad breath and I was breathing it in for an hour while she worked on my face. The really great paraffin treatment that we had done on our hands and feet disappeared as soon as we got out of the hot tub, and we weren’t advised against it, they should have said something like “it is advised not to enter the hot tub after the paraffin treatment to prolong the after effects of the treatment”.
We were there for a total of 7 hours, and then told that the valet parking would only be validated for 3 hours, however after spending over $1000 in services, you would think they would easily accommodate. Eventually they did, but I didn’t think I should have had to haggle about it.
The pool, hot tub and steam room were nice and 2 of the staff were really friendly, however I’m not sure if I would return again based on the price point I paid and the level of luxury and sophistication I expected. So if you do go, ask for Kimberly and Raji.
