“Definitely the best hike we did in the area!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

I cannot say enough good things about this hike. The pictures literally don't do it justice. I thought it looked a little boring when I saw the pictures. But no. They just actually can't capture how stunning everything is. Parks Canada calls this hike "easy", but that doesn't mean it's boring, and it's also doesn't mean it's easy :) There's a lot of uphill walking. You will be sweating. You will also walk along ledges (scary!) and climb snow banks. The whole thing is so awesome, and at the end the tea house is incredible. Our food was delicious. The bread was literally the best bread I've ever tasted.

You should definitely continue the last 1.6km to the lookout, because that is stunning as well. You will be awestruck by the magnificence of the glaciers. Oh, and be on the lookout for avalanches. Small ones happened every few minutes while were there. They were so cool to see.

An exhilarating hike in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Have the chocolate cake at the Tea House.

“Great food in a great setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

After a long trek to get to the Plain of Six Glaciers, it's so nice to have a slice of pie and a cup of tea to rest before the hike back. The prices are expensive, but considering that everything has to either be carried in by staff or helicopter dropped to the site, the prices are very understandable. Goods are fresh-baked on site and well worth it!

“After a long walk, welcome refreshment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Well done to the girls (and guys if there are any) who man this tea room spending five days living up by the glacier before their shift change. Not many places offer such a great personal service and have a welcome like this at the end of a long walk. Equally not many of us have to walk 6.1km up a mountain just to get to work like the staff do! Spectacular views when the snow is still on the cliff faces whilst having a lovely cup if tea. You could hear the cracking of ice and the fall of avalanches whilst sitting there.Very welcomed before the downhill journey back to Lake Louise

“It's the Idea of this place that makes it great.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

So, you've just schlepped thru snow, up switch backs, across streams, you are wet, you are cold, you are dazzled by the scenery and the friendly spirit of everyone you meet on the trail - You reach the Teahouse. The lovely, personable wait staff greets you. The dog wags it tail. You have tea. It's the same tea ya get everywhere else in the world. You have cake, it's dry, it's cold, but as you look out across the balcony at the glaciers, it tastes better.

Don't expect culinary delight - This place is about the place. Carry that spirit with you and it's all good.
