I cannot say enough good things about this hike. The pictures literally don't do it justice. I thought it looked a little boring when I saw the pictures. But no. They just actually can't capture how stunning everything is. Parks Canada calls this hike "easy", but that doesn't mean it's boring, and it's also doesn't mean it's easy :) There's a lot of uphill walking. You will be sweating. You will also walk along ledges (scary!) and climb snow banks. The whole thing is so awesome, and at the end the tea house is incredible. Our food was delicious. The bread was literally the best bread I've ever tasted.
You should definitely continue the last 1.6km to the lookout, because that is stunning as well. You will be awestruck by the magnificence of the glaciers. Oh, and be on the lookout for avalanches. Small ones happened every few minutes while were there. They were so cool to see.
