Visited in peak season and was blessed with a magnificent day. I noted the previous reviewer's comment about the lift only going 2/3 way up the mountain and not to the very peak - what a shame to miss the experience that was on offer in any case.
The peaceful ascent on the open lift chair was blissful. We watched in amazement as a sub adult grizzly foraged in the berry patches under the lift between poles 9 & 10. Some amazing money shots taken for sure.
Views from the 2 'lookouts' just away from the chair lift station were breathtaking - the panoramic vistas straight from a million postcards that you have seen of the Canadian Rocky mountains. Mount Temple dominates and you could imagine 'The Gods' looking down upon us - truely grand.
The interpretive centre is a totally worthwhile experience, educational and emotive together. Read the story of Thor the cougar - it really highlights how tough the big predators' existence really is as contrasted by the image of these animals portrayed in movies and the press on occasion.
The descent once again enchanted us with outstanding views across to Lake Louise and the Chateau in the distance - a wonderful appetizer as it was our next destination.
