“Breathtaking View from our room!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

The manager Leslie was awesome! She took really good care of us, as there was an issue with our Spa appointment. The person in charge of the Spa was not very nice, as there was some miscommunication with the hotel staff and the Spa people. They should have better co-ordination, which I told Leslie and she was very receptive to our feedback. We appreciated her hearing is out and making amends. Also, the Ian the manager at the Fondu restaurant was awesome! I highly recommend eating there.

While it was disappointing to read that you experienced some issues with your Spa appointments, I'm thrilled to hear that Leslie was so capable and able to rectify the situation. I'll be sharing your comments with her and with Ian. Thank you for your review; we hope to see you again!

Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly bell man who helped us with our luggage and offered valley. When checking in we were asked if we would like an upgrade for $70 to the top floor with two windows to look onto lake Louise and also to the left. The gentleman also threw in free valet so this was totally worth it. The room was amazing, I didn't want to leave and the King bed was very comfortable. We ate at the Saloon which was fairly priced and great atmosphere.
Only downfall was you had to pay for wifi and use of Internet at the business centre. We were there for one night passing through and I wanted to stay longer.
Only place to stay while visiting Lake Louise.

We had a super time at Lake Louise Fairmont. Our room looked directly onto the lake and as it was the quieter part of the season we never felt busy or rushed. We had some great food and the room was spacious and well furnished.

Room Tip: Lake view can mean looking across the car park and through a gap like our first room! I complained...

The Location of this hotel is second to none, I just loved sitting on the patio overlooking the lake having lunch superb setting
The facilities at the hotel are also very good, Breakfast was lovely in fact, all meals i had at the hotel were excellant - wine list was a bit pricey - I suppose its to be expected due to location
Rooms - this is where i was really disapointed - rooms are really small, and furnishings are quited dated, again this is probably in keeping with the area, if you are going to stay at the hotel upgrade to a lake view if you dont in my opinion probaly not woth staying here then

Room Tip: upgrade to lake view well worth it

This was our first visit to the area and to this hotel. We visited last week during the "off season" and there was still enough snow around for a sleigh ride and a wonderful ice walk to the Icefalls of Johnston Canyon with our expert Heritage Guide Mike. We learned so much about the area from Mike and felt like we were experiencing days gone by when the original chalet employed professional Swiss Mountain Guides. When we checked in, we were surprisingly upgraded to the Gold Floor which was a wonderful experience. Next time we will definitely choose this floor for its wonderful amenities...well worth it! The location is magical and at night the stargazing was spectacular. It is on our list as a definite place to return.

Room Tip: Lakeview is an added bonus.

Thank you very much for posting your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, especially your experience with Mike. We're very proud of our Mountain Heritage program; each of our guides is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and so enthusiastic. I hope you have a chance to experience the programs in the summer, as well!

This is an awesome place... our second time here and it was as good as we remembered. It is on the pricey side, but this one is worth the splurge. We did find that they have all kinds of different room types so, if you aren't happy with the one you booked, try to see if they can let you tour a couple more. The first one we had seemed old and outdated... We ended up with a room that was much more modern and we really liked.

The food is good at the restaurants, albeit expensive.

The lake was frozen and covered with snow (time of year), but we have been here in the past in the fall, and it is just an incredible site. Go for it!

Room Tip: If you are traveling in the winter when the lake is frozen save the $ and go for a mountain view roo...

This is a premium hotel, and the costs for a room refelct that aspect. It is a large hotel situated on a glacial lake in the Canadian Rockies. The room itself was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The view from our window was straight out to the lake and the mountains (Vistoria Glacier) at ther end. The mountains actually had nice snow at the top. The restaurant is also first class. We had a magnificant dinner that was expertly prepared and served in a courteous, professional manner. Everyone was just great. The only downside to the room was that it had no air conditioning. It got quite warm in the afternoon. I would put it on borderline stifling. We asked for a fan to circulate some air and we did get one, but it helpd only marginally. At well over $200 per night, that was a disappointment. Otherwise a very great stay. Yes, I know this is conflicting.

Room Tip: Check to see if the room you are getting is aircconditioned.

I'm so pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay, most notably because of the service you received. We do our best to provide a truly memorable experience. I was disappointing to read of the temperature of your room. This is something we are working stringently to correct. Thank you for your review, and we hope to see you again!
