We stayed at MLL for 5 glorious nights in mid-August. The location is stunning. There is really no other place like it. I suggest booking a lake cabin. We enjoyed Cabin #1. It was beautifully, tastefully decorated and cozy with a floor to ceiling window overlooking Moraine Lake. What an amazing view. Plus, the people who work at MLL are special too. Audriana was the first person we met at check in and she was wonderful. She gave us a tour of the lodge and helped get our luggage to our cabin. Everyone there is friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and engaging. Not only did we enjoy the natural wonder of the most beautiful lake, in our opinion, we so enjoyed interacting with the staff. But that is just who we are...we learned so much about the best things to do in the area from them. A delicious breakfast buffet was complimentary which was great and every morning Callum, Cara and Lindsay gave us suggestions on how or where to enjoy the day. Then, each day ended with a wonderful meal for dinner...and yes, it's expensive, but it's all part of the amazing lakeside dining experience. We really got to know Jordan, our server, and shared the days' experiences with him each night. Afterward, he would offer more suggestions for the next day. Thanks to him we enjoyed 2 fantastic meals in Banff at Nourish Bistro. We highly recommend it. The GM at MLL, Michael, must be doing something right because it shows in everyone who works there. I remember asking one of them about why they liked working there and their response said it all..."How could you not? It's a blessing to work in a place so beautiful." Our time at MLL was special. We spent 2 weeks in the area and it was the most beautiful place we stayed. There are only 2 things I would mention that might be considered downsides...#1-it's popular, so lots of people go to enjoy the scenery. But since we are from Orlando, our gauge of crowded is on a scale of 1 to Disney...so for us, it wasn't that crowded. Others might see it differently and may have been bothered by all the day visitors. #2 - the parking. There is a separate lot for lodge guests which is great, but it's small and tight, so a small rental car would be helpful. All in all, MLL is a must place to stay. We will be back.
