“Great Skii Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2007

This hotel was a good base for a wonderful skiing holiday. The room was clean, although very warm (a heating problem soon sorted by the maintenance man), in the main building. The only drawback was that children had to vacate restaurants by 8.30 which is ealy for those of us with teenagers especially as the resort has very little in the way of nightlife. We had a fantastic holiday and would recommend both the hotel and the resort for the fantastic snow conditions

LAKE LOUISE INN =A HORRIBLE place to stay

We spent one night at the Lake Louise Inn and paid about 3X what it was worth for the experience. Cramped, OLD room with no A/C (it was so hot in the room I called to ask how to turn on the AC and was informed they didn't have any, but would send up a fan and it wasn't until I made a 2nd call that it finally showed up.
The room featured a little double bed (where do you find those these days ??? and nearty every hotel or motel offers either a King or a queen) that must have been ancient and was lumpy and uncomfortable. The hair dryer on the wall in the tiny bathroom didn't work....the walls were thin and you could hear people ablove and beside you. The carpet was dirty and climbing up and down the narrow and fould smelling stairs on the side of the building was a special joy as well since there was no elevator. In summary...I can't imagine a place that offer less for the price they charge and if you are smarter that me...heed this advice and STAY AWAY from the LAke Louise Inn. It's a DUMP.

The main facility to this hotel looked very nice, but we were very disappointed when we arrived at our room in section 4. We had a room with 2 beds and there was barely room to get around. It was extremely small and very basic for the price charged. I wouldn't stay there if visiting again.

I think it depends on where you stay in the hotel, we got a cramped motel room close to the highway with no elevator.

Breakfast was OK, fresh waffles were good, but a bit of a wait while other guests messed up the waffle maker.

Wouldn't recomend or go there again.

I wish we had researched Lake Louise before staying at the Inn. Very basic accommodation, breakfast average, handful of places to go on a night, food gets boring after a while. Reception staff very helpful - we had cancelled our reservation for New Year as I couldn't face eating from another buffet - tried to charge us for it when we left, but this was soon rectified.

We are two 20 somethings and found 2 weeks at Lake Louise Inn far too long - our first week was great loved it but by week 2 we were bored stiff on an evening - my advice stay in Banff.

They were heavily into revamping some of the buildings. Our room, a Pinnacle Suite, was OK (and redone) but certainly "used." In the main building the rooms seemed to be in better shape. Not many restaurants around, so we tried the hotel. Even the restaurant/bar (expensive) was undergoing change of management and menu. Give it a pass until they iron out their problems.

Booked a room in the Pinery. Would have no issue at all had we not stayed elsewhere e.g. Emerald Lake Lodge, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in the preceeding days for more or less the same price (these other places were maybe £5 per night more expensive). Compared to those hotels, this was not value for money as the room was pretty tatty - think motorway junction chain hotel. Having said that, the room was quiet (it was low season though), the Explorers bar was good fun and I had the sizeable pool/steam room to myself! If you don't need to spend much time in your room, it should be fine. I am, however, kicking myself I didn't book Deer Lodge instead (owned by same people as Emerald Lake Lodge and right on shore of Lake Louise).
