“Could do with being refreshed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2008

Reserved their simplest twin room (prices in LL are high!) in an outbuilding. Had fold down bed (not particularly comfortable) and decor needed refreshing. Not particularly well soundproofed units, made worse by wooden walkways outside being pounded by other guests. Ok for a stopover, but nothing more.

We stayed for one night coming from Jasper and heading west. We were 2 adults and three kids (13,10,3) and booked a huge suite in one of the big blocks which had a master bedroom + bathroom upstairs, large lounge and kitchen, and another bedroom with bunk bed and single (which the kids loved) and another bedroom. Some road noise (there is everywhere!) but did not disturb me.
Couple of the fixtures were slightly tired (wobbly drawer front, door hard to shut) but nothing significant. Pool was great fun for the children
Only gripe was the restaurant staff. We ordered some take-out pizza/lasagne and when we went to collect it we had to ask 3 different members of the restaurant staff who were really, really disinterested in helping us.

We were on our honeymoon earlier this month. We booked one of the more economical rooms. The room was in a side building, seemed a bit dingy and had an odor of cigarette smoke (its a non-smoking facility). When we spoke up and told them of our recent marriage we were given a wonderful room with a king size bed in the main building. Our room looked out on the mountains and the pool/hot tubs (2) were very easy to get to. Both my wife and I really appreciated the service and the bump.

I have stayed at the Lake Louise Inn on four different occasions, and it has gotten better every time. On my most recent trip I was upgraded to a suite at no additional charge because I was staying for a week. The living room was huge, complete with flat-screen, HD TV, and the suite also included a kitchen, bathroom, and very comfortable queen-sized bed. I used the hotel's Jacuzzi and swimming pool daily to recover from the strains of hiking. The front staff is very helpful and the hotel, by Lake Louise standards, is a bargain -- only one other hotel in the entire village is less expensive. Altogether, this hotel is a very good bargain, with rooms ranging from small twin doubles up to the fanciest of suites.

We expected Lake Louise to be expensive but stil thought this place was overpriced for the quality. Paid $330 night for our room, were unable to sleep due to noise (loud noise of water in pipes whenever neighbouring units used showers/toilets) and urine dripped from the bathroom exhaust fan over the toilet. Called and asked for the manager to show them the dripping, waited half hour with no response, went over and asked them to look and after they examined it we eventually got an apology and offer of partial refund and breakfast.

Without the urine dripping would have still been extremely disappointed with the hotel, but that incident was revolting! Would never stay there again and surprised they can stay in business.

recenlty i had the opportunity to stay the night at lake louise inn. That night there was a lighting storm which took out all the lights in the town of lake louise. We were told by the staff that it might take a few mins or hours depending on the repairs. We went to our room, but discovered that the hotel did not have a generator to accomidate this power outage. Thank god i didnt require power for oxygen. We went to the chateau to have dinner as they had a generator for there hotel. The power was restored at 2 30 am. Upon check out, i asked the shift manager if there was any compinsation for the events of the night, and she said no... after paying 200.00 for the night, i was sadly dissapointed. I sent a email off to the manager of the hotel, who was more than abnoxious and rude. He felt there was no problems, as well as it was not his problem. He is the worse manager i have ever spoken with, when it comes to problems. Most managers would be so happy to make sure you are happy with your stay, but Gerry Barteluk was more than rude to me. I recommend anyone wanting to stay in this hotel be careful, when there is no problems i am sure the hotel is the same as the hostel down the road, but when there is a problem they dont care about you, as long as you have given them the money that is owed to them...

We were only booked in for one night and based on previous reviews hadn't been expecting any great shakes. However, we were pleasantly suprised and enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff were polite, friendly and helpful and the room we were given was on the ground floor of of two storey block 2 with parking immediately outside the door. The room looked to have been recently refurbished and was nicely furnished with a plasma screen tv. There was a balcony and large french windows opening onto this overlooking a covered barbeque area. The pool/ spa area was very nice although, oddly, it was overlooked by some of the guest rooms on one side.

The hotel is conveniently located for the village centre and I would guess you could get by without your own transport if needs be.

I would have given it an above average rating but for the restaurant - Legends I think it was called. The food was good enough (when it arrived) and the staff were friendly and helpful but they were short of choices and seemed to be out of various items on the menu. Plus they stick on a 15% service charge then leave a space for a gratuity as well (which always annoys me). I think they had some staff/ training issues that night.

However, I'm sure that our negative experience in the restaurant was a one off judging by some of the other comments, so I would have no problems recommending this hotel as a stop off in Lake Louise.
