Loved the situation of it - it seemed miles from nowhere but very beautiful. The lake itself appeared dark and mysterious and there are gorgeous walks to take around the lake. You must either have your own vehicle or take a trip that includes Moraine Lake.

This lake is very nice to see, it's surroundings are breath taking. If you're in the neighborhood you should definitely also go to Lake Louise.
Moraine Lake and the Canadian Rockies are awesome and they are in our backyard! You could visit on a 3 day weekend, but I would recommend at least a week.
This is our favorite spot on the planet. You must view from the top of the rockpile. Come early and watch the mtn reflection in the lake give way to the aqua color as the sun comes across the lake. This view didn't appear on the back of the Canadian $20 bill by accident. Banff and Jasper are so magnificent I really can't imagine why you would want to go all the way to Europe...
