“Nature so beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

The frozen lake was stunning, just perfect for a ski across the set tracks. The mountains looked on majestically. Ice skaters glided across the rink. A perfect place to visit for it's beauty. We had a hot chocolate in the Chateau afterwards but found our particular server unenthuastic about serving us in the lake view bar as we were only ordering chocolate. We were redirected to a side cafe with no view. The chocolate was perfect however.

“Quiet, beautiful and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

If you are looking for a ski resort with only good skiing in mind and perhaps a few good restaurants, then Lake Louse is for you. The village is small with only a handful of shops and places to eat. We first came here 20 years ago and nothing has changed since as it is in a protected national park. You won't find a noisy après ski scene or nightclubs but you will find tranquillity and simplicity. Our favourite hotel is The Post which is perfect for couples. Larger families may prefer the LL Inn. The chateaux is a favourite but we find it too big and touristy. Best restaurants are the Post's own, The Station and most in the chateaux. If you just want a quick easy dinner try Peyto's café. It is in a youth hostel but don't let this put you off. The food is good and very reasonable.

The skiing here is extremely reliable and varied enough for a week especially if you go to Sunshine Village for a day. There are runs to suit all tastes and plenty of terrain parks for jumps and a short skier cross course. There are 3 lodges, one at the base, one midway and one on the other side of the mountain. Choose from self service quick bites or more leisurely table service options. The buffet breakfast at the base lodge is excellent value and the nachos in the upstairs bar are a must. Queues are rare during the week. Weekends do get busy so have lunch early and then ski when everyone else is having theirs.

I was concerned about going to North America just for a week but everything is made so easy here, it was definitely worth the trip.

“Beautiful winter wonderland!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

My fiancé, his daughter and I went Skiing at Lake Louise ... well, they went skiing, I took the shuttle bus to the nearby Chateau and toured around a bit. Both areas were breathtakingly beautiful! The ski lodge was busy and crowded, much like you expect a ski lodge to be but everyone was very friendly and helpful and didn't mind at all when I gave up trying to learn to ski (the bunny hill was scary!) and asked to ride the gondola style ski lift up to the top for some pictures. At least I could make some use of the ski lift ticket we purchased.

The Chateau was beyond beautiful and the ski hill offers a free shuttle from their location to the hotel. It is giant, old, majestic and situated right on the lake, it was so much fun watching people ice skate and play hockey. The Chateau had an ice sculpture competition going on at that time so it was even more amazing to get to see the talent and beauty.

All-in-all ... even a non-skier can enjoy this place!

“Very Good ski-ing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Nice ski resort with good facilities and ski runs for all levels. We visited during the Christmas period, which was very busy nevertheless waiting times at the lift was still acceptable (5-10 minutes maximum at the base, 3 minutes maximum elsewhere).

The kids preferred the ski school in Sunshine Village as the level 3 kids (green runners) in Lake Louise stayed on the training slope with carpet lift.

“Lake Louise Outdoor activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

We where on the road when our road was closed to Radium BC Canada. So we stopped at Lake Louise. The ice sculptures were amazing . The ice Castle on the lake was full with active photographers and kids on skates. It our first visit that was great enough to be on the lake. \all the years I have been going there this was the best. if you get a chance to go see them in the month of Feb bring your skates since the ice is wonderful all the way to the base of the glazier.

A must see and bring the kids. Good for cross country ,Down hill skiing and snow shoeing. A must not to be missed. We are glad we made time for it on our journey to the hot springs in Radium Bc Canada.
