“A must do on your list!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

This was a beautiful place. Took my breath away when I first set my eyes on the whole view!!! I have seen the pictures through all seasons, but my favourite season had always been winter.
It was my first time to walk 3.8km and ice skate on a frozen lake. Weather had been on our side as it was the only sunny day during our 2.5weeks of holiday.

“syunning natural location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

We visited lake louise in summer of 2010, as part of a stay in Alberta. The lake and the setting are absolutely beautiful, the water is a magical turquoise. There is a beautiful walk with different branches to it around the lake, the lake louise chatteau sitting right on the lake side is also a must see and stay attraction on its own with stunning architecture. Amazing place to visit.

“Heaven on Earth!”

Lake Louise has to be, if not the most beautiful place in the World, it ranks in the Top 5. I know I read somewhere that it's the Most Photographed Vacation Spots in the World, and if you have ever been here, you know why. If you are one who is into Mountains, Spectacular Scenery, and Warm and Friendly people, then what are you waiting for?

“Just amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

We were there in June, just in time for the final ice melt. You see pictures of it, but it is much, much, better in person. It was really quiet when we were there, but there were still quite a lot of people moving around. Access is pretty good, but there were a few steepish muddy paths to be negotiated to get to the water. Be careful. It was cold too. Rug up. Windy. Brrrr+. People talk about hiking around the place. It is a biiig lake, and we had little kids, cold weather, and not much time. The hotel looks nice. Would definitely like to stay there one day. Oh yes.

There is truly massive amounts of parking on site, and the highway there is a magnificent four lane freeway all the way from Calgary. That means in Summer the place will be packed, and there will be 10,000 other people looking over your shoulder as you soak in the view and enjoy the solitude.

The Banff traffic cops seem to be on Commission or are trying to pay off the freeway or something. It was the only place where we saw Canadians not driving like Canadians. It was also the only place we saw any cops, too, and they were super eager to make new friends with travelers. Watch out.

Oh, they close the restrooms over winter, so don't drink anything, and we didn't see anywhere to get anything to eat. Good luck with that, eh? And there are s-loads of bears in the area, so be careful if you need to go off road to use that big bushy restroom. We saw a mother bear and three cubs just up the road, so wear your runners, or hike with someone who can't run very fast, and whom you don't like very much.

Other than that, plan for an hour going 'Ooooh', and 'Aaaah', and 'If I win Lotto I will stay at this hotel', and then look for that restroom. It's worth it.

“amazing all year long”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Been here in the summer and winter. Amazing views all around! Great hike around the lake in the summer, and in the winter you get a great view of some frozen waterfalls. In the winter there is a skating area with an ice castle on it-great place to skate day or night!
