“Beautiful”

A beautiful lake and definitely worth the short, steep hike from the car park. It is best early in the day before the bus loads of people arrive.

“Breath-taking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

On a hot summer day, try to get there in early morning. It is a popular spot. After loaded tour buses arrive, you can't enjoy the tranquility of the lake. Moreover, when the lake under the sunshine, it loses its surreal blue color.

“Peyto Lake”

Truly breathtaking. The view is so good, make sure you take photos of the lake with people in it, otherwise your friends and family will think you photoshopped it! God picked up a paintbrush and this was the result.

“A must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

It is only a 10 minute walk from the parking lot - but it is all uphill! If you have difficulty you can park at the bus/handicap parking lot and then it is only a minute walk without the uphill part. It is also very very busy - because it is so beautiful - many tour buses etc. go there... but be patient - you will get your turn to take photos and take in the view. A very beautiful spot in our amazing Rockies.

Do not miss this stop if you are traveling along Icefields Parkway. Although there are many other scenic lakes within an hour of this one, the viewing platform at Peyto Lake gives a breathtaking view of the turquoise water and the surrounding peaks.
