“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

Great food, good service, very pricey (although we were there for NYE). Would definitely eat here again :)

“Good Food, Bad Table”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

Visited Bison Feb 28th to celebrate my wife's birthday. Made the reservations on line, and also called direct to confirm and ask for a nice table for the occasion. Well, we arrived 5 mins before our 730 reservation and had to wait 20 mins for our table which was no big deal as we sat at the bar downstairs. Hostess came to seat us for our table upstairs, and were directed to a table for two near the back exit to the back stairs and restroom. The view was into the exit hallway. Noticing that there were other tables for two available I asked the hostess to move but she replied by saying that "no, they are taken". Explained that this location was pretty sad, and it was a special night, and I had called and asked for a "nice table", but to no avail. "Sorry can't move you".. We had a constant flow of people walking by our table the whole time, who were going through to the restroom. Also, the wine was stored in a cooler just behind the table so waiters were constantly there also. NO AMBIENCE at all. Plus the exit door was kept propped open the whole time due to excess smoke from the kitchen area. We were not pleased but made the best of it. Our waitress was great at the beginning, taking drink and our food order, but once a larger table arrived, she pretty much abandoned us. Another waitress delivered our food, then no one came until we were done. No "how is it? Would you like another drink" Finally, our waitress returned and we just asked for the bill, waited for another person to cash us out, then that was a wrap.,,,Food was very good, however, the seating area and total service was average at best. We would return, but would make it clear that we wouldn't accept the poor table location.

“A real restaurant in Banff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014 via mobile

We had such a nice experience here. We went in our ski pants and never felt uncomfortable, sat in a cozy corner, and were seen to immediately. We ordered and loved the Caesar salad, bison burger and the bison short ribs.. All so yummie and well presented. The service was up to our rigid standards and the Oregon Pinot Noir ( sorry okanagan) was delicious !
Really a pleasure dining in Banff!

“Excellent breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

There were so many breakfast options that sounded delicious, it was very difficult to choose. In the end, we both went with eggs benedict; one with duck confit and goat's cheese, and the other with candaian bacon.
Both were very nicely done, and customized to our liking. Portions were large
The waitress was also very nice in offering Bailey's with our coffee.
The view was lovely.
Will definitely visit for breakfast again!

“Lively with a great wait staff”

Liked the energy of this place. Food was great and my son even tried a buffalo burger. The wine selection was top notch.
