“Excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

We had the Bison meatballs and the smoked bison pizza. Both were excellent. Also, the elderflower punch bowl was very refreshing on a hot summer day. There is a patio as well.

The Bison is a favourite for us and the Sunday brunch is legendary. the food is excellent and the Caesars go down a treat. There is an extensive and interesting wine list too. Prices however, are high

“amazing creative cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We had the chance to dine in both venues. the bear street cafe has great pizza and very friendly staff. The restaurant is located a block behind the main drag and is a quiet get away where you can you can gaze at the mountains and people watch at the same time. There is a bike rental and a bakery located in the inner plaza where the restaurant has a lovely outdoor patio attached to the lower restauran. The is also a walk in medical clinic adjacent to the plaza so you can get checked out while the rest of your group can party on.
Upstairs is the wonderful land of the Bison Restaurant....you can not go wrong with any of the items as all are so creative and tasty. It is truly on of the places where you gotta eat here. Chef Liz Gagnon has a wonderful menu that changes with the seasons. Brunch is a must try as well. The eggs bene's are worthy of the callories. It tastes like more not matter which restaurant you eat in. Kids are welcomed and the staff looks after your comfort without being too in your face. I can't wait to go back on my next visit to Banff.

“Rich gamey food. Pricey but ultimately worth it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

This was an excellent dinner with little to be faulted. The food was fantastic. We started with a shared plate on which everything was very tasty, especially the meats. There was a reasonable variety of main courses. The bison short ribs were exceptional, strong tasting and surrounded by a selection of vegetables. Service too was very good. We enjoyed the decor of the restaurant, although it does get quite noisy. It is also not a cheap night out, but I think the quality of the food and service warrants it. Would certainly recommend it.

“A Memorable Evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

We had a delicious dinner at the Bison. The server was helpful, attentive, but unobtrusive and there was an excellent wine list with lots of variety. The food was delicious. As we dined later in the evening, the only disappointment was that they were out of the pork tenderloin, but the second choices were very tasty. We really enjoyed our evening and will be back.
