Over all, the dining experience was not what I would consider good. Having said that, I also would have to admit that the food was good, and I can add to what others have said, that the fish and chips were quite good. The experience fell down on the speed of service. Yes, the pub was packed, but we waited an eternity for our food, and the waitress just kept telling us (when she took time to acknowledge us) that it was the kitchen's fault because they were so busy. With the slow service, had to ask several times just to have water glasses refilled.
Part of the reason we chose the Pub was it was busy, thinking more people = good place. As mentioned, the food was good, but service painstakingly slow - we would much rather have spent the time we spent waiting wandering around Banff on our too short of a visit.
